Mathnasium of Cherry Creek’s personalized algebra tutoring programs are designed to support students at every stage of their math journey.
We help students with their transition from concrete to abstract thinking, mastering integers, fractions, order of operations, and introductory variables, building the algebraic reasoning needed for Algebra 1.
Our caring tutors support students with multi-step equations, linear functions, graphing, and word problems using personalized plans that turn this vital course into a confident foundation for future math success.
We guide students through fast-paced, complex math topics such as factoring polynomials, quadratics, exponentials, and logarithms, while building advanced problem-solving skills they need for Precalculus and college-prep coursework.
At Mathnasium of Cherry Creek, our specially trained math tutors help students of all skill levels learn and master algebra. We support them in Prealgebra, Algebra 1, and Algebra 2, as well as math topics like expressions, equations, functions, graphing, polynomials, and exponential relationships.
We provide personalized, face-to-face instruction in a caring and fun small-group environment. Our tutors use natural, jargon-free language, meet students where they are, and guide them step by step, so algebra feels understandable and confidence-building.
We use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach designed to help students deeply understand how algebra works while honing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Our tutors combine proven interactive techniques with personalized learning plans tailored to each student’s needs and learning style. This makes algebra clear, meaningful, and easier to apply both in class and in real-world situations.
Each student’s Mathnasium journey begins with a diagnostic assessment that helps us identify their current skills, knowledge gaps, and goals. These insights allow us to create a personalized learning plan that focuses on exactly what each student needs, whether they need to catch up, keep up, or get ahead.
With the plan in place, our tutors deliver targeted, supportive instruction, adapting in real time to the student’s learning style. This approach helps students fill knowledge gaps, strengthen foundational skills, and build lasting confidence as they progress through algebra.

Spencer Benner
Regional Director
Spencer began his Mathnasium career in 2018 as a part time instructor with Mathnasium of Oviedo, FL while attending the University of Central Florida. Spencer was quickly promoted to Lead Instructor where his understanding of the Mathnasium Method deepened through creation of learning plans for students. With excellent student progress and customer satisfaction, Spencer was soon moved into the Center Director role.
In 2024, Spencer moved across the country to Colorado and joined the Mathnasium of Littleton team as the Center Director. Spencer brought the same level of high expectations to the team. Spencer led Littleton to become a 100+ 5 star Google review center and student progress reflected that.
Spencer then promoted to Regional Manager of Denver in 2025, overseeing the operations of Mathnasium of Cherry Creek, Cherry Hills, Denver Highland, Lakewood CO, Littleton, Parker, and South Westminster.
In his free time, Spencer enjoys the typical tropes of Colorado - hiking, climbing, and spending time with his dog, Pepper, and his cat, Phillip.

Alex
Instructor
About me: My name is Alex and I am currently a junior at East High School. Throughout my academic journey, I have always loved math. In elementary school I helped run the Math Olympiad team, In middle school I took advanced math classes and studied on the side, and in high school so far I've taken the hardest classes I can. Apart from loving math, I play Ultimate Frisbee, run Cross Country, and absolutely love to play music (mainly piano and saxophone, but I've been trying to learn the drums recently as well). In my free time I like to spend quality time with friends and family.
Why I love working at Mathnasium: I like working at mathnasium because I love the feeling of helping someone understand a new concept or think about things in a different way. I love when I get to see that Aha moment that happens when a student finally understands something they've been struggling with.
Favorite number: My favorite number is 104,729 because it is the 10,000th prime number, and I think it rolls off the tounge nicely.
Fun fact about myself: A fun fact about me is that I can solve a Rubik's cube in about 30 seconds.
In 5 years I'll be... I will be a senior in College hopefully close to obtaining a degree that I'm excited about and ready to continue my life after college.
Whether they would like to attend sessions in-center or online, students can take 3 easy steps to enroll at Mathnasium.
All students begin their Mathnasium journey with a diagnostic assessment that pinpoints what they already know and the algebraic concepts they still need to learn.

Our algebra tutors work with students of every level of algebra, including Prealgebra, Algebra 1, and Algebra 2.
No matter where your student begins, our tutors create a personalized learning plan around their current math skills, helping them to catch up, keep up, or get ahead while building deep understanding along the way.
Our tutors help students master any algebra topic, including:
Expressions and equations
Inequalities
Linear and quadratic functions
Systems of equations and graphing
Polynomials and factoring
Exponents, radicals, and rational expressions
Each student's personalized learning plan focuses directly on what they need, so each session moves them towards mastering algebra.
We require an assessment because it gives us a clear picture of where a student stands with algebra, what they already understand, where the gaps are, and what they're hoping to achieve.
From there, we build a personalized learning plan around that student specifically, instead of starting everyone at the same place or assuming what a "typical" student at their grade level should already know.
Mathnasium of Cherry Creek uses the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach designed to build deep understanding of algebra rather than rote memorization.
Our tutors start by seeing what a student already knows, close any foundational gaps holding them back, then introduce new material step by step.
Sessions are face-to-face in a supportive small-group setting, guided by each student's personalized learning plan. Each student progresses at their own pace, building the kind of confidence that changes how they think and feel about algebra altogether.
Yes, Mathnasium tutors work with students at any skill level, including those who are falling behind. At Mathnasium, we focus on “teaching for understanding," meaning we teach math in a way that makes sense to students. Building upon what students are already familiar with, our tutors guide them to fill any gaps in their knowledge in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Absolutely! We work with advanced algebra students across the board, including:
Students in honors and accelerated courses
Students looking to get ahead of upcoming coursework
Students seeking enrichment beyond the classroom
We also help students build the algebra skills they'll need for college entrance exams like the PSAT®, SAT®, and ACT®.
At Mathnasium of Cherry Creek, our tutors can provide homework support. Rather than simply giving answers, our tutors use homework as an opportunity to reinforce what a student is learning, walking through the reasoning behind each problem so they can handle similar ones independently next time.
Yes! Each student's personalized learning plan can align with the Colorado Academic Standards (CAS) for Mathematics and classroom goals, giving them a solid grasp of the material before quizzes, unit tests, and final exams.
For standardized assessments that include algebra content, our tutors focus on closing knowledge gaps early, so test day feels like a chance to show what students already know rather than a scramble to catch up.
Yes, students can join live, face-to-face online sessions with the same tutors they'd work with at our Cherry Creek center. Online instruction follows the same personalized learning plan and delivers the same quality of caring, real-time support as attending in person.
No, there's no difference. In-center or online, students work with the same specially trained tutors, follow the same personalized learning plan, and get the same face-to-face instruction. Many families combine both formats for added flexibility.
Our tutors are familiar with the Colorado Academic Standards (CAS) for Mathematics and their specific classroom curriculum. When helpful, we can align instructions with what students are working on in local Denver Public Schools and surrounding districts to support both classroom performance and broader math goals.
While Mathnasium of Cherry Creek works with K-12 students, algebra tutoring typically focuses on middle and high school students, covering standard, honors, and advanced tracks across 6th through 12th grade.
We also work with students earlier than that, helping middle schoolers build the foundational skills that make algebra land the moment they get there.
