Stress isn't a factor in math - don't let it be in your child's education

2 and 3 are factors of 6, stress isn't - don't let it be a factor in your child's education! Unfortunately, a lot of parents wait until the stress, tears and frustration have grown for so long that their child is resistant to help. If you wait to seek out help until your child has been struggling for a couple years time, the gap in knowledge will be much larger.

We often see parents come in and explain that their child just doesn't care about math and is too lazy. In most if not all cases this is wrong. People in general DON'T like to misunderstand, and to be incapable of performing the task at hand. As a human, it is our natural desire to want to do things right, succeed and improve. So, if your child "doesn't care" we would beg to differ and would tell you that they are embarassed that they don't understand. It's easier to play off and even more socially acceptable to not care about math than it is to not understand.

All of this to say that the earlier you can spot the confusion, seek help, and address the problems the better off everyone will be. Kids give you lots of clear signals about their stress, we just need to be paying attention.
