Jessica Kasje

Assistant Center Director
Jessica Kasje holds a PhD in French from Yale. She has six years of experience teaching French at the college level, and she enjoys applying her skills to another language-math! Jessica is passionate about individualized instruction, and she believes that any student can succeed with patience and the right pedagogical approach.

Ying R.

Ying is a Chicago native who likes to explore the city on foot and on skates. One of her favorite places to skate along is the Riverwalk, and one of her favorite dessert places is La Michoacana. She likes working with students because she finds it rewarding when students regain confidence in subjects that they’ve struggled with. Math was her weakest subject, so she finds it especially rewarding when students learn to love math again, just as she did!

Reagan C.

Reagan is pursuing a Computer Science degree with a minor in math at UIC. She enjoys math and seeing how it can relate to something in every field, especially in computer science. She also loves to see students improve and get more comfortable with math as they learn more and more. In her free time, Reagan enjoys playing guitar, playing video games with friends, and traveling.

Alexandra F.

Alexandra is studying math at UIC. She likes math since it's the kind of thing you can do drinking hot tea with your cats sleeping next to you.

David G.

David has a degree in Applied and Computational Mathematics with minors in Computer Science and Physics from DePaul University. He enjoys hobbies such as chess, puzzles, sailing, climbing, and longboarding. David believes in taking the time to understand new information in the context of prerequisite knowledge and encourages his students to ponder new concepts. His favorite area of math is number theory and combinatorics.

Tony E.

Tony Eisel is a Math and Music Composition dual major at Roosevelt University. He likes to cook, travel, read, and sleep. He has a passion for educating the next generation.

Betty S.

Betty is a current playwright major at DePaul University who has lived in Chicago their whole life. They enjoy art and writing, especially sewing, painting, or poetry, but find math a satisfying outlet as well to engage with. They have tutored math since they were in middle school and enjoy helping others achieve new milestones in their academic journeys.

Megan W.

Megan is currently a college student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Physics at UIC with a minors in Math and Art. In the future she plans to pursue research in astronomy! In her free time, she enjoys reading, drawing, and petting her cat.

Shang A.

Shang grew up in Virginia with a passion for math, a subject they gravitated toward early on. They earned a BS in Computer and Electrical Engineering from NC A&T and are now pursuing a master’s degree in Computer Science at DePaul University. Outside of academics, Shang enjoys trying new foods and exploring the city, blending their love for learning with a spirit of discovery.

Alex L.

Alex is a dedicated math enthusiast with over 10 years at Mathnasium! She loves audiobooks, crochet, and museums. Her favorite type of math to do is geometry!

Sincere W.

Sincere is a former Mathnasium student-turned-instructor and current college student! In her free time, she enjoys volunteering, writing poetry, going on runs, reading, and playing with her younger siblings. She is fond of math as she enjoys thinking outside the box and likes interacting with life-applicable math problems.

Raksha A.

Raksha is a student at Walter Payton College Preparatory High School. She loves the mix of variables and numbers in math. Her favorite thing to do in her free time is to binge watch old Disney movies.

Ashley W.

Ashley attended the University of Kansas and has passed actuarial exams in Probability and Financial Mathematics. Ashley has hiked the Great Wall of China! She loved working with students to help them grow their understanding of math and their self-confidence alike.
