At Mathnasium of Chicago Lincoln Park, we believe the best exam preparation is building deep math understanding and mastery over time. Instead of last-minute review, we focus on building understanding session by session, so students are ready when it counts.
Every student begins with a diagnostic assessment so our specially trained tutors can identify their current skills and any knowledge gaps. From there, we create a personalized learning plan that builds math skills consistently, reinforcing classroom concepts, addressing foundational gaps, and developing the problem-solving skills students need across any K-12 math class, from elementary math through Precalculus and beyond.
When a major exam is approaching, we can align instruction with the specific topics and concepts it will cover, so students walk in feeling prepared.
Yes! Mathnasium of Chicago Lincoln Park prepares students for the math portions of the IAR.
Our tutors align instruction with the Illinois Learning Standards for Mathematics to ensure students have a solid grasp of the grade-level concepts they'll encounter on the exam. We identify each student's knowledge gaps through a diagnostic assessment and build a personalized learning plan that targets the skills they need to meet and exceed grade-level expectations.
Starting early makes the biggest difference. The IAR is designed to measure cumulative math understanding, so students who receive consistent support throughout the school year tend to perform better than those who begin preparing close to the exam.
Ideally, students should start working with us at the beginning of the school year or semester to allow time for thorough gap-filling and skill-building. That said, if the exam is coming up sooner, we're still here to help. Contact Mathnasium of Chicago Lincoln Park and we'll build a focused plan that works within your student's timeline.
Yes! Mathnasium of Chicago Lincoln Park prepares high school students for the math sections of the SAT®, PSAT®, and ACT®.
Our specially trained tutors use proprietary test prep materials and personalized learning plans to build the content knowledge and problem-solving strategies students need to perform their best on test day. Whether your student is preparing for the first time or working to improve a previous result, we tailor preparation to their current skill level and target goals.
We recommend starting at least three to six months before the exam date, and earlier is always better.
College admissions math tests cover a wide range of topics, from algebra and data analysis to geometry and, on the ACT®, trigonometry. Students who begin preparation early have time to identify and close knowledge gaps, build fluency with exam-style problems, and develop the confidence that comes from sustained practice.
For students with significant gaps in foundational math skills, starting even earlier, in middle school or early high school, gives them the strongest possible foundation heading into test prep. If your student's test date is approaching sooner, contact us and we'll build a focused plan around the time they have.
Math test prep at Mathnasium of Chicago Lincoln Park is included as part of a flat monthly membership. Pricing depends on each student's individual learning plan and session schedule.
For specific pricing information, please contact our center directly. We're happy to walk you through the options and find a plan that fits your student's goals and your family's needs.
The number of sessions depends on the exam your student is preparing for, their current skill level, and the time available before test day.
As a general guide, most students preparing for a major exam such as the SAT®, PSAT®, or ACT® attend two sessions per week over three to six months. For state assessments or school-based exams, the timeline may be shorter, depending on each student's needs.
Once we complete the diagnostic assessment, we'll have a clear picture of what your student needs and can recommend a session schedule tailored to their goals and the time available.
