Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

John

Instructor

John holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Northwestern University and brings more than 15 years of tutoring experience. He has served as a teaching assistant and lecturer for undergraduate mathematics at Northwestern for seven years.

Originally from Australia, John brings a global perspective to his teaching and once even spotted a platypus in the wild. His deep interest in mathematical theory extends to quantum field theory in curved spacetime, a topic he hopes to explore further. At Mathnasium, he loves helping students find clarity and excitement in math.

Melissa

Instructor

Melissa has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics and a B.A. in Music. With experience tutoring a wide range of subjects from Algebra to Calculus and serving as a TA for Calculus III, she brings both technical expertise and creative flair to her instruction.

Melissa enjoys showing students how math can connect to unexpected places, including music. She plays five instruments and hopes to study the mathematical analysis of music in the future. At Mathnasium, she helps students find both structure and creativity in their learning.

Nick

Instructor

Nick earned dual B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Jazz Studies from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. His tutoring journey began in high school, where he discovered a knack for helping peers grasp complex math concepts.

Beyond the classroom, Nick is a talented saxophonist who brings the same creativity and rhythm to his teaching style. Enthusiastic about advanced topics, he is particularly eager to deepen his understanding of differential equations. At Mathnasium, Nick combines his technical background with artistic flair to make math both structured and engaging for students.
