Stef Millan is the Center Director at Mathnasium and a graduate of Grand Canyon University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Health Science with honors. She brings extensive experience working across multiple school districts in the Pomona Valley.
Stef is passionate about creating a welcoming, supportive environment where students feel safe to learn and grow. She believes confidence is the key to success in math and beyond. Outside of Mathnasium, Stef enjoys reading, watching soccer, building LEGO sets, and spending time with her family and pets.
Nick Van Vliet earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Finance from California State University, Northridge, and joined Mathnasium in 2014. After serving as a Center Director for two years, he now oversees multiple centers as Operations Director.
Nick is committed to fostering positive learning environments where students feel encouraged to challenge themselves and enjoy math. He believes confidence grows through consistent support and engagement. Outside of Mathnasium, Nick enjoys sports, snowboarding, reading, hosting barbecues, and competing in just about any game he can find.
Sherin Yueksel earned her bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley. She began her Mathnasium journey as an instructor in 2021 and quickly advanced to leadership roles, including helping establish a new center.
Sherin is passionate about making a meaningful impact in her community by supporting students and staff alike. She strives to create environments where students feel confident, motivated, and supported in their learning. Outside of work, Sherin enjoys spending time with family, shopping, and experimenting with new recipes.
Paul holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering and an MBA from the University of Houston. He brings a strong analytical background and a passion for teaching students of all ages.
Paul enjoys helping students overcome math challenges by connecting concepts to real-life examples. He believes learning is most effective when students feel supported and understood. In his free time, Paul enjoys traveling, working out, researching cars, and spending quality time with his family.
Natalie is a graduate of the University of California, Riverside, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Business. She enjoys working with students as they tackle challenging math topics and grow in confidence.
Natalie believes math skills open doors to many opportunities and enjoys helping students discover their potential. Outside of Mathnasium, she enjoys drawing illustrations, spending time with friends, and watching her favorite TV shows.
Eric is a current sophomore at Mt. SAC, he hopes to transfer to a 4 year university and pursue a career as a doctor. He originally attended Mathnasium as a student and later became an instructor so he could help contribute to the positive atmosphere and help students understand math. In his spare time, Eric enjoys baking, playing video games, and building lego models.
Shannon is currently a Junior pursuing her bachelor’s degree in English at Cal Poly Pomona. She loves teaching kids and watching them grow as they become more confident with their skills. She cherishes making personal connections with the students to help create a safe place for them to feel understood and supported. She plans to get her teaching credentials and become a teacher. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, playing video games, and spending quality time with family.
Calista recently graduated from the University of California, Irvine, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology. She hopes to become a pediatric dentist one day and is especially passionate about working with kids. Calista currently volunteers at CHOC Children’s Hospital and regularly helps out at free pediatric dental clinics. In her free time, she loves playing games with friends, going to the gym, and spending time with her family.
Jacob is currently dual enrolled as a senior at Ayala High School and Mt. Sac as an Electrical Engineering major. He first began tutoring in middle school, and since then has found a love for helping students achieve their goals. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his dog, playing video games, hanging out with friends, and watching anime.
Rohan is currently a sophomore at Santa Ana College, hoping to transfer to UCLA next fall with a double major in economics and data science. With extensive experience in mentoring students, he is committed to building students’ confidence and unlocking their full potential at Mathnasium. Rohan is passionate about helping students explore math from a fresh perspective and takes pride in watching them tackle and understand difficult concepts. In his free time, Rohan enjoys spending time with family and friends and playing tennis.
Francisco recently graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in Applied Mathematics with a specialization in Computing from UCLA. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Applied Mathematics at UC Riverside. Francisco initially became an instructor at the Mathnasium of Diamond Bar in 2019, before leaving for college, and is excited to return and continue to help students achieve their goals. Outside of work, Francisco enjoys spending time with his friends, playing with his dog, and building LEGO sets.
Justin recently graduated from Chino Hills High School, where he took AP Calculus AB and BC, and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at Mt. Sac. Justin enjoys learning about math, since to him, solving math problems is like solving fun puzzles. In high school, he would help his friends with math homework, and through this, he not only found a passion for teaching others, but also for spreading his love for math. At Mathnasium, Justin strives to teach students about the wonders of math. In his free time, he enjoys playing the piano, listening to music, playing golf, and rock climbing with his friends.
