Sophia is dedicated to providing students with an engaging, supportive, and effective learning experience every day, helping them build confidence and gain a deep understanding of math. She leads a team of passionate instructors who create a nurturing and productive environment for students of all levels. Sophia believes in the transformative power of the Mathnasium Method and enjoys connecting with families who want to see their children succeed in math. Beyond Mathnasium, Sophia enjoys staying active, exploring topics related to health, baking cakes, and spending time with her family.
Justin earned his Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from Cal State Fullerton. Though he didn’t always enjoy math growing up, he discovered in college how fun and rewarding it could be. Now, he uses that experience to connect with students who may feel frustrated or discouraged.
As Assistant Center Director, Justin supports students and instructors to ensure a positive learning experience. He loves helping students grow in confidence and math skills. In his free time, Justin enjoys rock climbing, hiking, and gaming with friends. He hopes to one day teach math at the high school or college level.
Hansen is a Computer Science student at Norco College who first discovered his love for teaching through his high school math club, where he helped peers prepare for competitions. Since joining Mathnasium, Hansen has found joy in helping students deepen their understanding and grow in confidence. He finds it incredibly rewarding to watch students master concepts they once struggled with. His clear explanations and calm approach make him a favorite among students.
Outside of the center, Hansen enjoys solving Rubik’s cubes and playing mahjong with his family.
Angelina is a Computer Engineering major at UC Riverside with tutoring experience both online and in person. She’s passionate about making math fun, clear, and approachable for all learners. Angelina believes humor and connection are key to helping students stay engaged and motivated.
She takes the time to get to know each student, tailoring her instruction to match their learning style. Whether breaking down tough topics or cheering on small victories, Angelina enjoys building student confidence. Outside of Mathnasium, she enjoys creating music, expressing her creativity, and hanging out with friends.
Andy is currently studying Construction Engineering and Management at Cal Poly Pomona. He enjoys working with students, encouraging them to challenge themselves, and helping them solve problems they find difficult. He has always been passionate about math and enjoys tackling a variety of math problems. Andy believes that every student learns differently and at their own pace. With patience and the Mathnasium method, he helps students build confidence and master the concepts being taught. His teaching focuses on making learning fun while fostering problem-solving skills and self-assurance. Outside of Mathnasium, Andy enjoys playing golf, traveling, and exploring new cuisines. He has been practicing and competing in golf tournaments for over ten years and loves discovering new places and foods whenever he can.
Linda has earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from University of California, Riverside. Outside of Mathnasium, she has tutoring experience in math, reading, and chemistry. She also has another year of teaching experience in health education. She realizes that a strong body and a strong mind work together. She prefers to be interactive in her teaching by using visual aids to help build students’ understanding of concepts. One of Linda’s favorite things about teaching is being able to see a student’s confidence improve as their math skills soar! Linda has very little spare time because she is currently studying for the MCAT so she can attend medical school.
Lorenzo is a first-year Business Administration student at Cal Poly Pomona. He completed AP Calculus BC in high school, giving him a strong foundation in math. Lorenzo loves helping students gain confidence, overcome challenges, and discover a passion for learning math. Outside of Mathnasium, he enjoys playing the piano, learning new songs, and playing soccer with friends at the park.
Maiya is currently attending Cal State Fullerton to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications..She is a very attentive and thoughtful instructor who quickly adapts her teaching to match each student’s learning style. Using the Mathnasium method, Maiya is able to switch strategies as needed to help students grasp concepts and feel more comfortable tackling problems independently. She finds that using visual manipulatives in her explanations is very helpful with this goal. In her free time, you will find Maiya in the kitchen cooking or baking as the wonderful aromas fill her home. Maiya also enjoys playing softball and listening to music with her friends. She has special pets in her life and loves to hang out with her dogs.
Marsha holds a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies from California State University, Bakersfield, and a Master’s in Reading from Boise State University. With over 15 years of experience teaching and tutoring, she brings patience, encouragement, and expertise to her work at Mathnasium.
Marsha is passionate about helping students develop confidence and reach their full potential. She especially loves seeing students light up when they finally grasp a tough concept. Her warm, supportive approach helps learners feel safe to make mistakes, ask questions, and grow at their own pace.
Johnny graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in Computer Science. He has loved math since he was young and has a strong foundation in the subject. He loves helping younger students build confidence in math, discover new ideas, and feel inspired to learn. Outside of Mathnasium, Johnny enjoys playing basketball, gaming, and spending time outdoors.
Rudy is a Civil Engineering student at Cal Poly Pomona who brings patience, consistency, and strong problem-solving skills to Mathnasium. With a calm and encouraging demeanor, Rudy connects easily with students and adapts his approach to fit each learner’s needs.
He uses the Mathnasium Method to guide students step-by-step through challenging concepts, focusing on understanding rather than memorization. Rudy also has experience volunteering with children, which enhances his ability to motivate and engage students. One of his favorite things is watching students finally “get it.” Outside of Mathnasium, he enjoys going to the gym.
