At Mathnasium of Columbia, MO, we believe the best exam preparation is building deep math understanding and mastery over time. Rather than cramming before each test, students build a consistent grasp of math concepts session by session.
Every student begins with a diagnostic assessment that helps us identify their current skills and any knowledge gaps. From there, we create a personalized learning plan that our specially trained tutors follow during every session, reinforcing what students are learning in school, closing foundational gaps, and strengthening the problem-solving skills that serve them on quizzes, midterms, and finals alike.
Our tutors work with students across any K-12 math class, from elementary math through Precalculus and beyond. As a major exam approaches, we can align instruction with the specific topics and concepts it will cover, so students walk in feeling prepared.
Yes! Mathnasium of Columbia, MO prepares students for the math portions of the MAP.
Our tutors understand the Missouri Learning Standards for Mathematics the exam reflects, ensuring students have a solid grasp of the grade-level concepts they'll encounter on test day. Through a diagnostic assessment, we identify where each student needs support and build a personalized learning plan that targets the skills they need to meet and exceed grade-level expectations.
The sooner, the better. Because the MAP measures the math skills students develop over the course of the school year, consistent preparation throughout the year is far more effective than a rushed approach before the test.
We encourage families to reach out at the start of the school year so we have time to address any foundational gaps and build grade-level skills. If your student's exam is approaching sooner, contact us and we'll develop a focused plan around the time available.
Yes! Mathnasium of Columbia, MO prepares high school students for the math sections of the SAT®, PSAT®, and ACT®.
Our specially trained tutors use proprietary test prep materials and personalized learning plans to build the content knowledge and problem-solving strategies students need to perform their best on test day. Whether your student is taking the exam for the first time or looking to improve their score, we tailor preparation to their current skill level and target goals.
Earlier is always better, and we generally recommend beginning at least three to six months before the exam date.
College admissions math tests cover a broad range of topics, from algebra and data analysis to geometry and, on the ACT®, trigonometry. Students who begin preparation early have time to work through knowledge gaps, build fluency with exam-style problems, and develop the confidence that comes from sustained practice.
For students with significant foundational gaps, starting in middle school or early high school gives them the best possible footing heading into test prep. If the exam is coming up sooner, reach out to Mathnasium of Columbia, MO and we'll build a focused plan around your student's timeline.
Math test prep at Mathnasium of Columbia, MO is offered as part of a flat monthly membership fee. Pricing depends on your student's individual learning plan and session schedule.
For specific pricing information, please contact our center directly. We're happy to walk you through the options and find a plan that fits your student's goals and your family's needs.
There is no single answer, as the right number of sessions depends on the exam your student is preparing for, their current skill level, and the time available before test day.
For major standardized tests like the SAT®, PSAT®, or ACT®, most students benefit from two sessions per week over a three-to-six-month period. For state assessments or school-based exams, a shorter timeline may be sufficient depending on each student's needs.
Once we complete the diagnostic assessment, we'll recommend a session schedule tailored to your student's goals and the time they have available.
