Doug brings nearly 30 years of experience as a school counselor to his role as Owner of Mathnasium of Columbia.
Having once been a student in Columbia and serving the community as an educator, Doug is passionate about helping learners gain skills and confidence in math.
Doug is a proud Mizzou graduate and an avid follower of Tiger athletics. When he is not working to build an exceptional place to learn math, Doug loves landscaping and participating in Scottish Highland Games.
Jes earned a BS in Mathematics, completing her senior project in knot theory and its applications in life sciences. She taught high schoolers in Columbia Public Schools for 6 years and has worked with children of all ages during her career as an educator. Tutoring math allows her to experience the joy of logical discovery alongside students.
Vedant is a student at Rock Bridge High School, currently pursuing an advanced math track. He developed a love for math through competitions in elementary and middle school, and now enjoys sharing that passion with others.
At Mathnasium, Vedant helps students build both confidence and understanding in their math skills. Outside the center, he enjoys running Cross Country, competing in Track events, working out, and playing video games.
Neel is a sophomore at the University of Missouri studying biological sciences with minors in psychology and chemistry, along with a certificate in neuroscience. He plans to attend medical school and pursue a career as a surgeon.
Neel is passionate about helping students develop a positive relationship with math. At Mathnasium, he works to show students how math can empower their future and build confidence in their academic journey.
Madeline is a student at the University of Missouri majoring in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Psychological Sciences. Inspired by supportive math teachers in high school, she brings that same encouragement and care to her work at Mathnasium.
She aims to create an environment where students feel confident and excited about math. In her free time, Madeline enjoys reading, trying new foods, and going on walks.
My name is Josh from Chicago, Illinois, attending the University of Missouri, studying mechanical engineering with a minor in aerospace engineering. I have experience with teaching and working with kids from being a TA in high school, an Afterschool instructor in Columbia public schools, as well as many years of experience as a summer camp counselor. I think developing a confident connection with math at a young age is key to a more successful high school and college career, and I take great pride in providing that service.
