Larry Martinek is the educator behind the proven teaching approach used at every Mathnasium Learning Center. As a teacher, administrator, and father, he spent over 40 years developing a better way to teach math—one that helps children truly understand and enjoy it.
From this work, he created the Mathnasium Method™, which focuses on number sense, conceptual understanding, and confidence-building. His legacy lives on in every lesson, helping students develop stronger math skills, greater self-confidence, and a lasting love of learning.
Yoselin is the Center Director at Mathnasium and holds a B.S. in Mathematics from Lamar University. She brings extensive experience from her work at Beaumont ISD, where she supported students across multiple grade levels and learning needs. Known for her adaptability and student‑centered approach, she consistently creates an environment where learners feel supported and motivated.
Yoselin is deeply committed to helping students develop confidence and long‑term success in mathematics. She strives to make the subject engaging, accessible, and enjoyable for all learners. Outside of Mathnasium, she enjoys playing tennis, baking, and traveling with friends.
Our instructors come from a variety of backgrounds, including certified teachers, retirees, college students, and standout high schoolers. Each instructor completes a rigorous selection process, including assessments, background checks, and trial sessions to ensure they meet Mathnasium’s high standards.

Sherlyn is a knowledgeable person who brings patience, clarity, and strong problem‑solving skills to every session. She is driven by a genuine desire to make a meaningful difference in students’ lives and is dedicated to helping each learner build confidence and succeed. Sherlyn is currently pursuing a future career in healthcare and plans to study Medical Radiologic Technology in college.
Outside of tutoring, she enjoys reading and listening to music, which helps her relax and stay inspired throughout the day. A fun fact about her is that she loves discovering new books and often become fully immersed in the stories she reads. Overall, Sherlyn values personal growth and looks for small opportunities to improve each day.
Bele is a strong and dedicated math instructor with advanced coursework in College Algebra and a proven ability to teach Algebra I and II effectively. She plans to study Economics in college, with growing interests in Finance.
Outside of school, she enjoys exploring new subjects, strengthening her math skills, and dancing. She is also an avid music enthusiast who has curated more than 400 playlists over the past two years. Her goal is to help students feel confident, capable, and curious as they learn math, ensuring that every student receives the support they need to succeed.
