Shad is the Center Director at Mathnasium and brings over 25 years of public school teaching experience, including 23 years at Ambridge Area High School. He holds a degree in Secondary Education - Mathematics from Penn State and has worked in alternative education and at the Johns Hopkins CTY Program.
Shad’s love for teaching math goes back to third grade, when he was asked to help first graders with their math. Outside of work, he enjoys camping, live music, and cheering on the Steelers and Penguins.
Rachel opened her Mathnasium center to share her passion for teaching and math with the community. She studied Mathematics and Chemistry in college and earned a graduate degree in Applied Mathematics. With experience teaching math at every level—from elementary school through college—Rachel is dedicated to making math make sense for every student.
When not at the center, she enjoys running, coaching basketball, and spending time with her three children: Rylan, Cameron, and Ashley. Rachel loves seeing students build confidence as they learn to enjoy math.
