Angelina Kaur attends Cypress College and is pursuing a degree in psychology. She plans to transfer to the University of California Irvine, or the University of New York. Math is her favorite subject, as it is a way for her to connect with her mother, who was a Calculus teacher. Angelina fluently knows three languages: English, Punjabi, and Hindi. Angelina’s hobbies include but are not limited to, singing, dancing, reading books, and spending time with her family and friends.
Reuben is a student at California State University, Long Beach pursuing a degree in computer science. He has been tutoring for around 6 years and volunteered at his high school as a math and science tutor. His goal is to help students achieve their academic goals and even inspire a love for math, science, and computer science in them. He loves to hang out with friends and family, play sports such as basketball and volleyball, and learn more about different cars, even those that were made 60 years ago.
Claire is a third year student at Cal State Long Beach majoring in Mathematics Education. While there, she discovered her passions for mathematics and music performance. Her goal is to ensure that students feel comfortable with mathematics, rather than afraid or angry. Eventually, Claire plans to teach algebra and/or calculus in a middle/high school. Aside from doing math, Claire spends her spare time playing drums, cooking, and listening to music.
Myra is currently attending California State University, Long Beach, where she is pursuing a degree in Molecular Cell Biology and Physiology with a minor in Chemistry. She aims to go to medical school post-graduation to become a General Surgeon. Math is her favorite subject because of her desire to solve puzzles and face fun challenges. Myra’s hobbies include listening to music, watching Studio Ghibli films, and spending time with her family and friends.
Grace holds a Master's Degree in Data Analytics and a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Mahatma Gandhi University, India. Her passion for math blossomed in high school, convinced that everything starts with the beauty of mathematical concepts. Unraveling the beauty of math and inspiring a new generation of mathematical thinkers bought her to Mathnasium.
Simon is currently a 3rd year student at Cypress College studying to become a mechanical engineer. He loves instructing students and peers, and has always had a passion for helping them reach their academic goals. Aside from math, he loves playing video games on his computer and finding new music artists to obsess over.
Salma is currently a student at Santiago Canyon College, planning to pursue a career in healthcare. Math has always been her favorite subject, and she now hopes to share her passion with the students she tutors in a fun and engaging way. In her spare time, Salma enjoys playing sports, baking, and playing games like Mario Kart and Animal Crossing on her Nintendo Switch.
Michael is currently a senior at Oxford Academy and plans to pursue a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. His goal is to make math fun and easy for students of all levels. He is passionate about helping students build confidence and develop a strong foundation in mathematics. In his free time, he enjoys listening to music, playing video games, and binging movies.
Mischa is a student at Artesia High School and plans to major in Biological Sciences to pursue a career in the medical field. She enjoys helping her peers and others with any questions they have with math, and strives to push and encourage them to achieve their goals. In her spare time, she likes to listen to podcasts and play Minecraft.
Allen is a student at Cerritos College and is majoring in nursing. He loves his role as an instructor and always looks forward to helping and instructing students who come through the door. Besides teaching, Allen enjoys sports and music, and hanging out with his family and friends.
Kalayarasan (A.K.A. Kalay) is a soon-to-be UC San Diego student His interest in math stemmed from taking a physics class in high school, which helped show him how math can be applied to the world around us. He loves talking to others about cars and learning more about them, as well as playing sports like basketball and badminton.
Reese recently graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a Bachelor’s in English and plans to pursue a career in massage therapy. Their goals are to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere and foster curiosity and excitement in the process of learning. Beyond teaching, Reese enjoys drumming, video games, and rock climbing.
