Angelina

Assistant Center Director
Angelina Kaur attends Cypress College and is pursuing a degree in psychology. She plans to transfer to the University of California Irvine, or the University of New York. Math is her favorite subject, as it is a way for her to connect with her mother, who was a Calculus teacher. Angelina fluently knows three languages: English, Punjabi, and Hindi. Angelina’s hobbies include but are not limited to, singing, dancing, reading books, and spending time with her family and friends.

Alonzo

Lead Instructor
Alonzo earned an Associate's Degree in Mathematics from Orange Coast College and will be receiving a B.S. in Mathematics Educations from California State University Long Beach. He plans to receive a high school teaching credential and aspires to teach at the collegiate level some day. Alonzo has experience tutoring a large range of math students at Orange Coast College and is excited to tutor even more students through the use of the wonderful methods at Mathnasium. Math has always been Alonzo's favorite subject; he wants to create a space where students are comfortable sharing their ideas and are engaged in a way that is exciting to them.

Elena

Lead Instructor
Elena graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a B.S. in Pure Mathematics. She then went on to pursue a graduate degree in Mathematics at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Elena discovered her passion for math while studying at UCR. She has been tutoring math for 3 years, and her ultimate goal while tutoring is to help students build their confidence, and have fun with it! When she's not doing math Elena enjoys listening to music, playing video games like Animal Crossing and Pokemon, and hanging out with friends.

Jacob

Lead Instructor

Jacob is a third year student at Cal State Long Beach majoring in Mathematics Education. While there, he discovered his passions for mathematics and music performance. His goal is to ensure that students feel comfortable with mathematics, rather than afraid or angry. Eventually, Jacob plans to teach algebra and/or calculus in a middle/high school. Aside from doing math, Jacob spends his spare time playing drums, cooking, and listening to music.

Diego

Lead Instructor
Diego currently attends Cal State Long Beach majoring in Mechanical Engineering. He has vast experience in tutoring students in STEM related topics, especially in Math, Physics, and Engineering. His goal is to inspire others to follow their dreams and to learn to persevere through any challenge they face the same way he was by his teachers and tutors. When not solving equations, Diego enjoys playing video games and tinkering with robotics. 

Myra

Instructor
Myra currently attends Cypress College and plans to pursue a Degree in Biological Sciences. She aims to transfer to the University of California, Irvine with the hope of attending medical school post-graduation and intends to become a Dermatologist. Math is her favorite subject because of her desire to solve puzzles and face fun challenges. Myra’s hobbies include reading, listening to music on late-night runs, and spending time with her family and friends.

Grace

Instructor

Grace holds a Master's Degree in Data Analytics and a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Mahatma Gandhi University, India. Her passion for math blossomed in high school, convinced that everything starts with the beauty of mathematical concepts. Unraveling the beauty of math and inspiring a new generation of mathematical thinkers bought her to Mathnasium.

Shawn

Instructor
Shawn is an Oxford Academy student with a passion for physics and calculus, which inspired him to join our Mathnasium of Cypress team to spread the love for math. Shawn’s goal is to study computer engineering in college. In his spare time, he works out and writes code for his projects.

Simon

Instructor

Simon is currently a 3rd year student at Cypress College studying to become a mechanical engineer. He loves instructing students and peers, and has always had a passion for helping them reach their academic goals. Aside from math, he loves playing video games on his computer and finding new music artists to obsess over.

Savit

Instructor
Savit is a recent high school graduate who has always enjoyed math, especially geometry. His passion for math comes from his want to seek out answers and solutions to challenging problems. Savit will be attending the University of California: Riverside in the fall and will be studying neuroscience with the hope of attending medical school after. Currently, Savit is binging Breaking Bad and The Witcher.

Mischa

Instructor

Mischa is a student at Artesia High School and plans to major in Biological Sciences to pursue a career in the medical field. She enjoys helping her peers and others with any questions they have with math, and strives to push and encourage them to achieve their goals. In her spare time, she likes to listen to podcasts and play Minecraft.
