Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.


Sharanya attends a local high school and plans to pursue a degree in Computer Science post graduation. Her passion for math and science brought her to Mathnasium and she wishes to share this passion with each of the students she works with. Her goal at Mathnasium is to make math easier for the students by teaching them the Mathnasium method and creating a comfortable environment where students are open to asking questions. When Sharanya is not at Mathnasium, her hobbies include listening to music, dancing, taekwondo, reading and journaling.


Lead Instructor
Alonzo earned an Associate's Degree in Mathematics from Orange Coast College and will be receiving a B.S. in Mathematics Educations from California State University Long Beach. He plans to receive a high school teaching credential and aspires to teach at the collegiate level some day. Alonzo has experience tutoring a large range of math students at Orange Coast College and is excited to tutor even more students through the use of the wonderful methods at Mathnasium. Math has always been Alonzo's favorite subject; he wants to create a space where students are comfortable sharing their ideas and are engaged in a way that is exciting to them.


Luis earned his Bachelor's degree in physics at California State University Long Beach with a minor in mathematics. He plans on becoming a high school physics teacher. Luis has lived in several cities; L.A., El Paso, Seattle, San Antonio, and the list continues to grow. His favorite math joke is "what did the triangle say to the circle? You're pointless" and his hobbies include listening to music, playing hockey, and video games.


Joshua currently attends Fullerton College and plans to pursue a degree in statistics. He plans to to transfer to a school like UCLA or Berkely for their statistics programs. Joshua has tutored for 3 years, and his favorite subject to tutor is math. In his spare time, Joshua enjoys playing video games, drawing, and exercising.


Savit is a recent high school graduate who has always enjoyed math, especially geometry. His passion for math comes from his want to seek out answers and solutions to challenging problems. Savit will be attending the University of California: Riverside in the fall and will be studying neuroscience with the hope of attending medical school after. Currently, Savit is binging Breaking Bad and The Witcher.


Omkar attends Stanford University and is pursuing a degree in Political Science. He plans on becoming a lawyer, with hopes to focus in Intellectual Property law. He is passionate about math as it challenges him to approach problems in different perspectives and he has a strong desire to continue learning higher math for fun. His hobbies include listening to music, reading books, and spending time with friends.


Assistant Center Director
Angelina Kaur attends Cypress College and is pursuing a degree in psychology. She plans to transfer to the University of California Irvine, or the University of New York. Math is her favorite subject, as it is a way for her to connect with her mother, who was a Calculus teacher. Angelina fluently knows three languages: English, Punjabi, and Hindi. Angelina’s hobbies include but are not limited to, singing, dancing, reading books, and spending time with her family and friends.


Myra currently attends Cypress College and plans to pursue a Degree in Biological Sciences. She aims to transfer to the University of California, Irvine with the hope of attending medical school post-graduation and intends to become a Dermatologist. Math is her favorite subject because of her desire to solve puzzles and face fun challenges. Myra’s hobbies include reading, listening to music on late-night runs, and spending time with her family and friends.


Lead Instructor
Elena graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a B.S. in Pure Mathematics. She then went on to pursue a graduate degree in Mathematics at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Elena discovered her passion for math while studying at UCR. She has been tutoring math for 3 years, and her ultimate goal while tutoring is to help students build their confidence, and have fun with it! When she's not doing math Elena enjoys listening to music, playing video games like Animal Crossing and Pokemon, and hanging out with friends.


Jacob is a third year student at Cal State Long Beach majoring in Mathematics Education. While there, he discovered his passions for mathematics and music performance. His goal is to ensure that students feel comfortable with mathematics, rather than afraid or angry. Eventually, Jacob plans to teach algebra and/or calculus in a middle/high school. Aside from doing math, Jacob spends his spare time playing drums, cooking, and listening to music.


Grace holds a Master's Degree in Data Analytics and a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Mahatma Gandhi University, India. Her passion for math blossomed in high school, convinced that everything starts with the beauty of mathematical concepts. Unraveling the beauty of math and inspiring a new generation of mathematical thinkers bought her to Mathnasium.
