In addition to his work at Mathnasium, Joey volunteers with public institutions like AltaSea and works as an Educational Aide at Dana Middle School. Outside of work, he enjoys photography, piano, weightlifting, and cooking up something new in the kitchen.
Nick holds a strong passion for helping students build confidence and fluency in math. He has been tutoring students from 1st through 11th grade for the past two years and enjoys working with learners of all ages and skill levels.
Before joining Mathnasium, Nick spent eight years as an after-school skateboard instructor, giving him plenty of experience working with kids in fun, engaging environments. Outside of work, he enjoys going to concerts, spending time with friends, and supporting student success across multiple centers.
At Mathnasium, our instructors are the heart of everything we do. Each team member is carefully selected, thoroughly background-checked, and trained over several months before they ever work with students. Most are college-level or above—we rarely hire high school students—and we continue training them every two weeks to stay sharp in both Mathnasium methods and Common Core standards.
We take pride in supporting our instructors so they can give your child the best experience possible. That includes offering competitive pay to attract top talent and making sure everyone on our team meets the highest standards.
What makes our program especially strong is that our leadership team is made up entirely of former instructors. That means every decision we make is grounded in real teaching experience and a deep understanding of what helps students grow and thrive.
