Kyle serves as Assistant Center Director and holds a BA in Mathematics from Rutgers University. Certified to teach math in grades K–12, he supports students across many subjects and helps them build both understanding and confidence.
He loves math for the way it explains the world, from simple patterns to complex systems. His favorite number is 27, since it’s three cubed. In his free time, Kyle makes medieval armour, a hobby that combines precision and creativity, programming and crafting.
Fun Fact about Kyle: He has no middle name.
Philip has been tutoring since 2011 and holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Montclair State. He has worked with students from elementary through college, breaking down complex math into smaller, approachable steps that build clarity and confidence. Philip is currently teaching math in a high school in NJ.
He loves showing students how math patterns make even difficult problems manageable. His favorite number is 13 because it’s “extra prime,” and outside of Mathnasium he enjoys woodworking and room design. Philip also has dual citizenship in Germany and the U.S.
Heather has taught higher level math at the high school and college levels. In addition to working at Mathnasium, Heather is an Instructor for Calculus at the County College of Morris. Known for her ability to connect to students quickly, Heather is a popular Instructor at the Center.

JoAnn is a certified educator with credentials in Elementary, Middle School, and Special Education K–12. She earned degrees from Trinity College and Teachers College, Columbia University, and teaches both in-center and online with energy and warmth. Known for ringing the cowbell when students master a skill, she makes learning memorable.
She loves math for its universal applications, from cooking to rocket launches. Her favourite number is 8, with its symmetry and link to infinity. Outside of teaching, she has visited ten national parks and enjoys exploring new places.
As a Lead Instructor, he shares his love of problem solving and enjoys seeing everything “click” when students that he is working with reach understanding.
His favorite number is 7, inspired by the seven dwarves, and he plays trumpet, trombone, and ocarina. His other favorite number is 17 because it is the 7th prime number.
Fun Fact: Michael has unconsciously started collecting random things from The Lord of the Rings, including 5 copjes of the books, 2 rings, 9 goblets and a foam replica sword.
Michael brings creativity and energy to each session, helping students feel confident while making math more enjoyable.
Kyan is a senior at Rutgers University majoring in Mathematics. He also serves as a Teaching Fellow and Academic Coach, bringing both academic experience and practical teaching skills to Mathnasium.
He enjoys showing students how math connects to the natural world. His favourite number is 2, because powers of 2 appear everywhere in real life. Kyan balances his studies with caring for six pets, including three cats, which keeps him busy outside the classroom.
Philip holds an Electrical Engineering degree from NJIT. In addition to working at Mathnasium, Philip is also employed as a Data Scientist at Picatinny Arsenal. He likes standup comedy and trying out new restaurants. His favorite number is the Golden Ratio because the sentence "an eigenvalue of the Fibonacci Sequence is the golden ratio" makes sense! Favorite Math Joke: A student asked his Algebra teacher if he could use the restroom. For some reason, the teacher asked him to explain. His response: y=2p Fun Fact about Philip: He has perfect pitch. Why he loves Math "It started off as just something I was good at, but I gradually fell in love with its beauty and utility."
Yves graduated Summa Cum Laude from Rutgers University with a degree in Mathematics and a minor in Computer Science and Theatre. Favorite number :63. It's part of an elaborate ongoing joke with him and his friends. It has a lot of sentimental value. Favorite Math Joke: "Knowing my favorite math pun is trivial and left as an exercise for the reader."

Fun Fact: Yves is a professionally trained theatre actor and singer. He's done conservatory work in NYC and has performed in some of his favorite shows. Also, Yves loves the Pi Day Pencil reward on the spinning wheel.
Kairi's favorite number is 26 because it was ALWAYS her student number as a kid.

Fun Fact: Kairi has three cats - Dusty, Chase and Babka.
Nikhil earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon. Fun Fact - Nikhil has visited over half of all the National Parks in the U.S.
Favorite Math topic: Trigonometry.
Favorite Number: 61
Outside of Mathnasium, Nikhil works full time as a Chemical Engineer. He enjoys basketball, tennis and hiking.
Caleb is a Junior at Mountain Lakes High School where he is a member of t he Varsity Tennis Team and is currently taking AP Calculus. He loves math because there is always an answer.
Favorite Number: 8 (It's good luck.)
Fun Fact: Caleb lived in London for 2 years!
In his spare time, Caleb plays the guitar, does some coding, reading, Gaming and welding.
Ian's Favorite number is 1337. Ask him why.

Favorite Math Joke: Why do people tend to dislike calculus comedians? Answer: Their material is too derivative.
Hobbies: Cooking, Video Games, Anime and YouTube
Fun Fact: Ian can crack almost every joint in his body! (ouch!!!)
Yusma is an Astrophysics major at Rutgers University. Why? She's just good at it.
Her favorite number is 3!. Ask her why.
Calculus is her favorite area of Math.
Fun Fact: Yusma has 14 travel posters!
Matthew holds a Bachelor degree in Anthropology and a minor in Music. He enjoys painting, video games and making music.
Favorite Number: 25, it's just so useful.
Fun Fact: He has one less bone than a "typical" person.
Isabel attends the Academy for Math, Science and Engineering. She is also a proud member of the NJ Ballet Company.
Kelly's favorite Math topic is Linear Algebra. In between studying for her Actuarial exams and working for Mathnasium, Kelly enjoys running, skiing, singing, cooking, watching reality tv shows like True Crime.
Her favorite number is 9.
Fun Fact: Kelly has a shichon named Lucy.
Trina's favorite number is 7. It's just always been her favorite.
Favorite Math Joke: Who's in charge of the pencil case? The ruler! Her favorite math topic is Algebra. Outside of Mathnasium, Trina loves reading and watching movies and tv shows.
