Personalized Math Test Prep Programs

Mathnasium of Dr. Phillips's personalized math test prep programs are designed to help students at every level feel confident and prepared on exam day.

Students preparing for quizzes, unit tests, or final exams receive focused instruction on the concepts their exam will cover. Our tutors follow personalized learning plans to identify and address knowledge gaps, helping students across any PreK-12 math class feel prepared and confident when it counts.

Our tutors prepare students for the math portions of the Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) by aligning instruction with Florida's Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (BEST) and targeting the skills students need to meet and exceed grade-level expectations. We focus on building genuine understanding so students are ready and not just familiar with the material on test day.

We support high school students preparing for the SAT®, PSAT®, and ACT® with proprietary test prep materials and personalized learning plans tailored to their target scores and timelines. Our specially trained tutors build the content knowledge and problem-solving strategies that translate into stronger results on test day.

How We Help Students in Dr. Phillips Prepare for Math Exams

At Mathnasium of Dr. Phillips, our specially trained math tutors support PreK-12 students preparing for any math exam, whether that's an upcoming classroom test, a state assessment, or a college admissions exam like the SAT®, PSAT®, or ACT®.

Instruction takes place in a caring and fun learning environment, where tutors focus on teaching for understanding rather than test-taking shortcuts. By meeting each student at their current level and guiding them step by step, we help them build the skills and confidence to perform their best on exam day.

We teach using the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach that builds the deep conceptual understanding students need to succeed on any math exam.

Our tutors use proven interactive techniques alongside personalized learning plans and proprietary test prep materials. This combination helps students strengthen their mathematical reasoning and develop the problem-solving strategies that lead to real, measurable improvement.

The enrollment process begins with a diagnostic assessment that gives us a clear picture of each student's current skills, knowledge gaps, and exam goals. Using these insights, we build a personalized learning plan that focuses instruction where it will make the greatest difference.

As students progress, tutors follow the plan closely and adjust in real time, ensuring concepts are reinforced and new material is introduced at the right pace. Students move toward their exam with growing confidence and a stronger foundation in the math they need to know.

  • How does Mathnasium help students stay ready for math class quizzes, midterms, and final exams?

At Mathnasium of Dr. Phillips, we take a long-view approach to exam preparation, focusing on steady math growth rather than cramming before test day.

Every student begins with a diagnostic assessment that helps us identify their current skills and any knowledge gaps. From there, we create a personalized learning plan that builds math skills consistently, session by session, so students aren't starting from scratch before every exam.

Our specially trained tutors work with students across any PreK-12 math class, from elementary math through Precalculus and beyond, reinforcing the concepts they're learning in school, filling in foundational gaps, and developing the problem-solving skills that serve them on quizzes, midterms, and final exams alike.

When a major exam is approaching, we can align instruction with the specific topics and concepts it will cover, so students walk in feeling prepared.

  • Do you prepare students for the FAST math test?

Absolutely! Mathnasium of Dr. Phillips helps students prepare for the math sections of the FAST by aligning instruction with Florida's Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (BEST) and each student's individual needs.

The process begins with a diagnostic assessment to pinpoint gaps in understanding. From there, we create a personalized learning plan that targets the skills students need to meet and exceed grade-level expectations.

  • When should my student start preparing for the FAST?

Starting early makes the biggest difference. The FAST is designed to measure cumulative math understanding, so students who receive consistent support throughout the school year tend to perform better than those who begin preparing close to the exam.

Ideally, students should start working with us at the beginning of the school year or semester to allow time for thorough gap-filling and skill-building. That said, if the exam is coming up sooner, we're still here to help. Contact Mathnasium of Dr. Phillips and we'll build a focused plan that works within your student's timeline.

  • Do you prepare students for college admissions math tests like the SAT®, PSAT®, and ACT®?

Yes! Mathnasium of Dr. Phillips prepares high school students for the math sections of the SAT®, PSAT®, and ACT®.

Our specially trained tutors use proprietary test prep materials and personalized learning plans to build the content knowledge and problem-solving strategies students need to perform their best on test day. Whether your student is preparing for the first time or working to improve a previous result, we tailor preparation to their current skill level and target goals.

  • How early should my student start preparing for the SAT®, PSAT®, or ACT®?

We recommend starting at least three to six months before the exam date, and earlier is always better.

College admissions math tests cover a wide range of topics, from algebra and data analysis to geometry and, on the ACT®, trigonometry. Students who begin preparation early have time to identify and close knowledge gaps, build fluency with exam-style problems, and develop the confidence that comes from sustained practice.

For students with significant gaps in foundational math skills, starting even earlier, in middle school or early high school, gives them the strongest possible foundation heading into test prep. If your student's test date is approaching sooner, contact us and we'll build a focused plan around the time they have.

  • How much does math test prep at Mathnasium of Dr. Phillips cost?

Math test prep at Mathnasium of Dr. Phillips is included as part of a flat monthly membership. Pricing depends on each student's individual learning plan and session schedule.

For specific pricing information, please contact our center directly. We're happy to walk you through the options and find a plan that fits your student's goals and your family's needs.

  • How many sessions does my student need to prepare for an exam?

That depends on your student's starting point, the exam they're working on, and how much time remains before the test day.

For major standardized tests like the SAT®, PSAT®, or ACT®, most students benefit from two sessions per week over a three-to-six-month period. For state assessments or school-based exams, a shorter timeline may be sufficient depending on each student's needs.

Once we complete the diagnostic assessment, we'll recommend a session schedule tailored to your student's goals and the time they have available.

  • Do you offer online math test prep at Mathnasium of Dr. Phillips?

Yes! Students can join live, face-to-face online sessions with our specially trained Dr. Phillips tutors and follow the same personalized learning plan as they would in the center.

  • Is there any difference between online and in-center test prep sessions?

Not at all. Whether your student joins us in the center or online, they receive the same personalized learning plan, face-to-face instruction, and attentive support from our Dr. Phillips tutors.

Many families take advantage of a mix of in-center and online sessions to stay on track with busy schedules and shifting exam timelines.

  • Are your tutors familiar with Florida math standards and local school expectations?

Yes. Our specially trained tutors understand Florida's Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (BEST) and the curriculum expectations of local schools in Dr. Phillips, Bay Hill, Metro West, and the surrounding communities.

When appropriate, we align personalized learning plans with state standards and classroom goals to support both school performance and exam preparation.

  • How do I enroll in the math test prep program at Mathnasium of Dr. Phillips?

Getting started is easy! Email us at [email protected] or schedule a free assessment online.

During the assessment, we'll identify your student's current skill level, knowledge gaps, and exam goals, and use those insights to build their personalized learning plan.

Most students begin their test prep sessions within just a few days of their assessment.
