Helen is the Center Director at Mathnasium of Dunwoody and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Fine Art from The University of Alabama. She began tutoring in high school and has taught everything from Algebra 1 to Discrete Math. Helen believes math is both creative and logical and loves making it fun for students.
Outside the center, she’s a visual artist specializing in painting and printmaking and volunteers at the Atlanta Printmaking Studio. Her unique blend of artistic and mathematical thinking brings a fresh, engaging approach to learning.
James is one of our new Associate Directors at Mathnasium. After over a decade working in the real estate industry, he decided to join the Mathnasium team to fuel his passion for learning and education. James has two children of his own (ages 4 and 6) that he loves playing video games and doing Legos with. He is also an avid fan of all local sports teams but as a UGA graduate the Bulldogs always come first! James is very excited for the opportunity to support and guide your children through their Mathnasium journey!
Jodi brings over 20 years of teaching experience to her role as Director of Education. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Math from Hope College, as well as a Master’s in Math Education and a Specialist’s degree in Curriculum and Teacher Leadership from Piedmont College. She is also a certified gifted instructor.
Jodi has taught every level from 8th grade math to IB Math Studies and loves helping students overcome difficult concepts. She believes every child can succeed in math with the right tools, encouragement, and support—and she’s passionate about helping them do just that.
Lauren graduated from the University of Central Florida with an Interdisciplinary Studies degree, focusing on Math Education and Psychology. She has advanced knowledge in subjects including College Algebra, Calculus I–III, Differential Equations, and Statistics I & II. Her passion for math began early in high school and grew stronger through college.
Since joining Mathnasium in 2011, Lauren has been committed to helping students find joy and success in math. She believes math should be challenging in a positive way, not overwhelming or scary. Her approach focuses on building both skill and confidence in every student she supports.
