Joy joined Mathnasium in August of 2025 as an Associate Center Director. Joy is a long-time advocate and educator, having spent the last decade in both the classroom and the board room in roles ranging from teacher to community engagement coordinator to executive director. Joy cares deeply for the development of future generations and systems that create more pathways to success for diverse populations. As Center Director, Joy utilizes her operational, administrative and educational expertise to help support students in their mathematic pursuits. In her free time, Joy enjoys completing puzzles, spending time outdoors, painting and playing with her daughter.
Helen holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Fine Art from The University of Alabama. She began tutoring in high school and has taught everything from Algebra 1 to Discrete Math. Helen believes math is both creative and logical and loves making it fun for students.
Outside the center, she’s a visual artist specializing in painting and printmaking and volunteers at the Atlanta Printmaking Studio. Her unique blend of artistic and mathematical thinking brings a fresh, engaging approach to learning.
Jodi holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Math from Hope College, along with a secondary teaching certificate. She also earned a Master’s degree in Math Education and a Specialist’s degree in Curriculum and Teacher Leadership from Piedmont College.
With 20 years of teaching experience, Jodi has taught everything from 8th grade math to IB math studies and is a certified gifted instructor. She finds joy in helping students reach those breakthrough moments and believes every child can succeed with the right support.
Lauren earned an Interdisciplinary Studies degree from the University of Central Florida, with a focus on Mathematics Education and Psychology. Her academic background includes advanced coursework in calculus, differential equations, and statistics.
Since joining Mathnasium in 2011, Lauren has supported student success while training instructors to make math understandable and fun. She believes math should challenge and empower learners, not intimidate them, and finds fulfillment in helping students develop a love for learning.
