Ed (Mr Ed)

Assistant Center Director / Math Instructor
Ed received BS degrees in math and computer science from WSU and an MBA from Newman U. In his free time Ed enjoys whitewater rafting. FAVORITE NUMBER: Zero because it seems like nothing but helps other numbers end up bigger than themselves. FAVORITE MATH JOKE: Why is the equal sign so humble? Because it's neither greater than or less than the other numbers. FUN FACT: At the age of 4 Ed was on stage and an actor and dancer. I LOVE MATHNASIUM BECAUSE: I see students who dislike math then change their attitude and end up liking math.

Alexa (Ms Alexa)

Math Instructor
Alexa is a fifth year student at Wichita State University. She is currently pursuing a BS in biology. FAVORITE NUMBER: "42", because it’s the answer to life, the universe, and everything. FAVORITE MATH JOKE: Why are obtuse angles so upset? Because they’re never right. FUN FACT: I’m a huge fan of fantasy and sci-fi. Because of this, writing and art are two of my favorite hobbies. I LOVE MATHNASIUM BECAUSE: I love Mathnasium because: Mathnasium meets kids at their level. Instead of lectures and memorization, each kid has an individual learning plan that helps them actually understand and enjoy the math they’re doing.

Brody (Mr. Brody)

Math Instructor
Brody recently graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s of Science in Mathematics and a minor in German. He plans on obtaining a master’s degree in the near future. FAVORITE NUMBER: “5”, because it was the number he wore for sports throughout school. FAVORITE MATH JOKE: A farmer counted 397 cows in his field, but when he rounded them up, he had 400. FUN FACT: I am a percussionist and like to play all kinds of drums and unique instruments. Additionally, I like to go bowling from time to time. I LOVE MATHNASIUM BECAUSE: Mathnasium allows children to learn at their own pace and does this by focusing directly on the topics they need the most help with. I also like how Mathnasium uses a wide variety of fun techniques to help children learn.

Lead "On Line" Math Instructor
Joel is a sophomore at the University of Tulsa majoring in economics and minoring in political science. He plans to attend law school upon graduation. FAVORITE NUMBER: “11” because it is both prime and symmetrical. FAVORITE MATH JOKE: Why was 6 afraid of 7? Because 7 ate 9! FUN FACT: I went to nationals for the Lincoln - Douglas debate in high school; twice. I LOVE MATHNASIUM BECAUSE I really enjoy seeing kids go from struggling at math to caught-up to excelling.

Addison (Ms Addi)

Math Instructor
Addison is currently a senior at Kapaun Mt Carmel Catholic High School. She is involved in National Honors Society and Theater. She is planning to go to Wichita State University for college. FAVORITE NUMBER: 8, because it has always been my lucky number. FAVORITE MATH JOKE: What is a math teachers favorite snake? A pi-thon! FUN FACT: I love to paint and go to Colorado. The mountains are amazing to paint. I LOVE MATHNASIUM BECAUSE: The learning plans teach the math step by step, making sure the students understand the whole way through. The techniques that are taught this way help them understand the concepts easier. Then they can build upon those skills or fall back on them when they need to.

Elias (Mr. Eli)

Math Instructor
Elias is a High School Senior at Maize Virtual Prep taking college courses at Wichita State University. He plans to major in Biomedical Engineering and Astronomy. FAVORITE NUMBER: "127", because it is a centered hexagonal number and shows up in nature. FAVORITE MATH JOKE: What did the triangle say to the circle? You have no point! FUN FACT: I do Tae Kwon Do and I thoroughly enjoy woodworking. I LOVE MATHNASIUM BECAUSE: The instructional methods are simple and allow for deriving facts instead of just memorizing them.

Madison (Ms Madison)

Math Instructor
Madison is currently a Junior at Wichita State University. She is majoring in elementary education and looks forward to being a kindergarten teacher. FAVORITE NUMBER: “23” because I was born on the 23rd of the month. FAVORITE MATH JOKE: Why was the math book so sad? Because it has so many problems! FUN FACT: I was a gymnast for eight years. I LOVE MATHNASIUM BECAUSE: Each student has an individualized learning plan that helps them learn math that makes sense to them.

Sarah (Ms Sarah )

Math Instructor
Sarah has spent the last ten years teaching elementary school in classrooms around the world, including in Tanzania, Malaysia, and right here in Wichita, Kansas. She is currently working on a master’s in speech pathology at Wichita State. FAVORITE NUMBER: 24 because it has so many options for making equal groups of 24 people! FAVORITE MATH JOKE: Did you hear about the mathematician who’s afraid of negative numbers? He’ll stop at nothing to avoid them. FUN FACT: I love to do rock climbing and surfing! I LOVE MATHNASIUM BECAUSE: It meets kids right where they are and teaches math in ways that make sense to them, giving them new confidence!

Mr. Xavier

Math Instructor

Xavier is a sophomore at Wichita State University.  He is on track for an engineering degree or a computer science degree.   FAVORITE NUMBER:  “2”  Because it is the base of binary system and the basis for computer language.   FAVORITE MATH JOKE: Why does 1/5 need a massage?  Because it is 2/10ths (too tense)  FUN FACT:  I enjoy cooking!  I LOVE MATHNASIUM BECAUSE  I get to watch students change their attitude towards math - they begin to embrace it.
