Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Alexander Crooks

Center Director

Alexander holds a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin Stout. With a lifelong passion for math, he believes that mathematical thinking is not only practical, but essential for developing problem-solving skills and understanding the world around us.

His teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that everyone has the potential to be a great mathematician with the right tools and guidance. This energy pairs well with the Mathnasium approach, where Alexander leads a team dedicated to meeting each student where they are, identifying foundational gaps, and building the skills and confidence needed for lasting success.

Outside of Mathnasium, Alexander enjoys photography, video games, collecting action figures, and of course cats. He brings creativity, patience, and enthusiasm to every session and is committed to helping students grow into confident, capable math thinkers.

Praneeta Somisetty

Lead Instructor

Hi, my name is Praneeta and I’m a lead instructor at Mathnasium of Edison. I joined the Mathnasium team to share my passion for math with every student who walks through our doors. I believe that math should be an enjoyable subject for all learners, and I strive to help our students feel encouraged and confident in their math abilities. The other instructors and I do our best to ensure that each session is both fun and productive, making sure to meet each student’s individual needs. Our use of manipulatives and other techniques help students gain a better understanding of mathematical concepts, making learning a more interactive experience.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.
