Anh Thu Nguyen

Owner

Anh Thu is the Co-Owner of Mathnasium of Greenhaven and Elk Grove East. She earned her BA in Mathematics from California State University, Sacramento, and works as a high school math teacher in the Elk Grove Unified School District. With more than 10 years of teaching experience, she has worked with students at all grade levels. 

She is dedicated to helping children in the community succeed in math and believes the Mathnasium Method™ is an empowering tool for building both skills and confidence.

Audrey N.

Regional Director

Audrey is currently a student at Sacramento State and brings energy, discipline, and a love of learning to Mathnasium. A competitive swimmer since age 9, she has competed in high-level meets including Junior Olympics and Far Westerns. 

At Mathnasium, she enjoys guiding students through challenges, helping them grow their skills, and celebrating their breakthroughs in understanding. 

Grace N.

Assistant Center Director

Grace is a rising senior at Pleasant Grove High School with a strong academic record and nine years of competitive swimming experience. She enjoys spending time with friends and making lasting memories. 

At Mathnasium, Grace focuses on helping young students grow in both skill and confidence, supporting them as they become their best selves in math. 

Pailen L.

Instructor

Pailen is currently a junior in high school and a competitive math student. He enjoys solving complex problems and representing his school in math competitions. 

With experience teaching students at various levels, Pailen brings enthusiasm and clarity to each session, helping learners deepen their understanding and enjoyment of math. 

Abbrie S.

Instructor

Abbrielle is a senior at Cosumnes Oaks High School. She enjoys expressing her creativity through sewing and making thoughtful gifts, and she is also active in her school’s leadership program, where she helps manage clubs on campus. As a student herself, Abbrielle understands the challenges of learning and joined Mathnasium to support and encourage her fellow students. She takes pride in working hard and staying busy, always striving to grow and make a positive impact on her community.

Hi, my name is Osasere. I am a second-year Data Science student at Cosumnes River College, and I hope to pursue a career in IT in the future. I’ve always loved math, which is why I’m excited to help students at Mathnasium discover their own passion for it. In my free time, I enjoy working out, spending time with friends and family, and playing video games. Right now, my favorite is Elden Ring.

My goal right now is to explore different career directions, develop new skills, and see where my strengths can make the biggest difference. Hey, I'm Rekha and I'm currently majoring in biomedical engineering and hope to eventually work in labs after graduation. I love arts and crafts, specifically with clay and yarn.

Hello, I'm David. I recently finished my PhD in math at UC Davis and I would like o get a position as a college instructor in the Sacramento area starting next school year. I ultimately would like to facilitate programs that help high school students or younger reach their full potential in STEM so they can be successful in college and beyond. I enjoy hiking and visiting national parks, Point Reyes has been a common destination the past few years, especially since you can catch the occasional whale sighting.

My name is Christian, and I'm an undergrad student at Sacramento State with plans to major in statistics. I've always had an interest in numbers and data, as well as an interest in teaching math, which dates back to my senior year of high school when I got a spring tutoring job which I loved. My goals are to earn a master's down the line and get into a career involving data science. My hobbies include playing games and watching sports (primarily football and baseball).

Isaiah was introduced to Mathnasium by a friend. He has found his experience to be exciting and eye-opening. He mostly enjoys the colorful environment that's created from the relationships between instructors and students. Teaching students new concepts and seeing the look of realization on their faces is the best part of his day!

Hi, I'm Elliot. I'm currently a sophomore taking classes online at Boise State University, and I recently moved down to Sacramento back in October! I love teaching and I've taught music the last 2 years. Outside of work, I like to play basketball and play the drums.

Hi! My name is Elson and I’m a third year at UC Davis. I’m currently majoring in Mathematics with a Statistics minor. Outside of school, I enjoy going to the gym and playing sports with my friends. Also, I started learning piano when I was four years old and played competitively as well.

Ameen has a deep-rooted passion for mathematics and finds joy in helping students understand its beauty. With a flair for making complex concepts accessible, Ameen is committed to creating a love for math in every student. Outside Mathnasium, Ameen leads the Byte Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding education in third-world countries. When not teaching, Ameen enjoys kickboxing, programming, and weightlifting. These hobbies reflect Ameen's diligence to both mental and physical growth, always aspiring for balance and merit.

Hi I’m Ethan! I attended Cosumnes River College for several years and tutored math both in the classroom and in the Math Center prior to transferring to UC Berkeley in 2023. I majored in Astrophysics and Statistics at UC Berkeley and am planning on attending UC Davis to get my Master’s in Education and a teaching credential in math next year to teach high school and middle school math. Outside of math and school I’ve been a competitive archer for about 6 years and also enjoy reading and fiber arts such as crochet and cross stitch.
