Gabe Lightfoot

Assistant Education Director
Gabe currently attends Howard County Community College, focusing on math and education. His favorite number is 12, and when asked why, he humorously responds, "I don't know." Gabe's favorite math joke is, "What's a butterfly's favorite subject? Moth-amatics." A fun fact about Gabe is that his dog's head is unusually warm.

Shuze Artola

Lead Instructor
Shuze is currently pursuing a math degree at UMBC. Her favorite number is 48 because she finds it aesthetically pleasing and appreciates its divisibility. Shuze's favorite math joke is, "What happens if a hand grows to be 12 inches long? It becomes a foot." In addition to being a skilled math instructor, Shuze can also do the splits.

Kaycee Henderson

Kaycee is a senior at Wilde Lake High School and will be attending Spelman College in the fall to pursue a degree in Health Sciences. Her favorite number is 8 because she thinks it looks cool. A fun fact about Kaycee is that she has a mini schnauzer, adding a furry friend to her life outside of work and school.

Robert Dickens

Robert graduated from UMBC where he majored in mathematics and minored in chemistry. His favorite number is "n" because he sees it as having endless potential. Outside of work, he competes in and coaches fencing.

Alex Shemer

Alex is a senior at Mt. Hebron High School and will be majoring in physics at UMD next year. His favorite number is 2, which he humorously admits to stealing from his older sister. Alex's favorite math joke is, "Why was 6 afraid of 7? Because 7 8 9." A fun fact about Alex is that his cat has a lot of extra skin.

Sophia Chen

Sophia is a senior at Mt. Hebron High School and will be attending UMD in the fall to major in bioengineering. Her favorite number is 84, chosen simply "just cause." A fun fact about Sophia is that she has 2 birds

Riya Gangabathina

Riya currently attends Glenelg High School. Her favorite number is 2 because it's the only even prime number. Riya's favorite math joke is, "I'm 2^2 to lose you." A fun fact about Riya is that she has been to 12 different countries.

Avery Iadarola

Avery is a senior at Wilde Lake High School and will be attending Johns Hopkins University in the fall to pursue a degree in medical engineering. Her favorite number, for no particular reason, is 7. Avery's favorite math joke is, "How do you make the number 7 even? Subtract the 'S'." A fun fact about Avery is that she has a fraternal twin and enjoys trivia,

Aufa Bajwah

Aufa is a senior at Western Tech High School and will be attending Johns Hopkins University in the fall to study neuroscience. His favorite number is 5, inspired by Joe Flacco's jersey number. Aufa's favorite math joke is, "I had an argument with a 90 degree angle. It turns out he was right." A fun fact about Aufa is that he likes football, soccer, and sports in general.
