Mayra holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology from UCLA and brings a thoughtful, encouraging presence to her work with students and staff. Outside the center, she enjoys music, cheering on the Dodgers, and time with family and friends.
Her favorite moments at Mathnasium are when a student wrestles with a difficult concept and suddenly gets it. Mayra believes math is for everyone, and she is passionate about helping each student recognize their own potential.
Anthony is studying Computer Science at El Camino College and is an enthusiastic multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar, bass, drums, ukulele, and piano. He also loves games of all kinds, which fits right in with Mathnasium's hands-on approach to learning.
At Mathnasium, Anthony finds real satisfaction in helping students understand math and enjoy the problem-solving process. He considers it a privilege to play a part in each student's academic growth.
Nathan holds a BA in Communication with a minor in Digital Humanities from UCLA and is currently studying Animation at Santa Monica College. Outside the center, he enjoys biking to the beach, watching movies, and exploring the city.
At Mathnasium, Nathan enjoys guiding students through problem-solving and has found that teaching math has made him a stronger artist. He brings that same curiosity and creativity to every session.
Tyler holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Cal Poly Pomona and has been with Mathnasium for six years. He is drawn to the work because of the real impact it has on how students relate to math.
Tyler focuses on helping students move past fear and misunderstanding so they can build genuine confidence and strong foundations. For him, watching that shift happen in a student is what makes the work meaningful.
Gio is studying Mathematics at Long Beach State University and plans to pursue a career as a math teacher. Outside the center, he enjoys the beach, time with friends, and pickleball.
At Mathnasium, Gio loves that he gets to teach math in an environment that is engaging and fun. He is motivated by the chance to help younger students build understanding and develop a more positive relationship with math.
My name is Brianna Sulaiman, and I am currently a senior at Mira Costa High School. I love working at Mathnasium because math has always been my favorite subject and I enjoy sharing that with a younger generation, as well as spending time with kids and being able to see the lightbulb go off as they progress! Outside of school and work I enjoy spending time at the beach or going on hikes with family and friends.
Hi, my name is Santos. I am currently working on my Bachelor’s in Applied Mathematics at Cal State Long Beach. In my free time I enjoy going on hikes, watching Japanese animation, and spending time with family and friends. I've always enjoyed helping my classmates with their HW at school so working at Mathnasium to help future generations better understand Math seemed very natural. Watching their expressions when they finally understand something is a very rewarding feeling.
Hi, my name is Arya and I'm also a senior at El Segundo High School. After high school, I plan to go to university and major in Civil Engineering. In my free time, I enjoy video games, spending time with my friends and family, and watching or playing soccer and basketball. I like working at Mathnasium because I like math and it makes me happy when I see students understanding new concepts and having fun at the same time.
Hi! My name is Rachel. I am a graduate student at the University of Massachusetts Global for a teaching credential in life science and a Master of Arts in Teaching. I’ve always loved math and science, and I want to push the boundaries of teaching these subjects so that they can be more accessible to all students. I love working with the students at Mathnasium, and I’m always glad to help students find which learning strategies work best for them. In my free time, I enjoy playing video games with my family and playing with our dog.
Hi, my name is Diego. I went to Cerritos college and I spend my free time mostly playing soccer, or going out with my family and friends. I enjoy working at Mathnasium because it keeps my mental skills sharp and I also take pride in helping the students understand and progress with their own math.
Hi! My name is Yumi. I am currently a student at Mira Costa High School, planning to major in chemical engineering (hopefully) after graduation. During my free time, I enjoy reading, playing sports, and spending time with family to solve puzzle pieces, not to forget solving interesting math problems. Working at Mathnasium has been a fulfilling job that allowed me to connect with instructors and students in various ways, where you can see the students better their understanding in math and see their individual unique personality through math! Math can be in a way, a communication tool beyond calculations. It is fun and enjoyable to find different ways to explain concepts for all students!
Hey, my name is Andrew, and I'm currently a senior at Mira Costa High School. I have always enjoyed problem-solving since middle school, which is why math has always been a big part of my life. My favorite subject in school is, of course, math. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I enjoy working at Mathnasium because it gives me a chance to connect with younger mathematicians and offers me a chance to help them grow in their math journeys.
