Mathnasium of Evergreen Park wants to introduce you to our Owner, Amaechi Onyeali Center Director/Owner

Q: Why did you choose to own a Mathnasium center? A: I was looking for another way to help students in math after teaching for 20 years in the Chicago Public School system. I found the Mathnasium website and everything they presented was interesting and made sense. My wife and I decided to look into the franchise opportunity since there were no Mathnasium’s on the Southside of Chicago. Mathnasium was also one of the fastest growing and most affordable franchises at that time.

Q: What do you like about the city your Mathnasium center is located in? A: I like the fact that Evergreen Park feels like an extension of the Southside of Chicago. They are literally across the street from each other outside my window. Evergreen Park also has a variety of business owners located in malls as well as throughout the neighborhoods.

Q: Can you think of any way that your center has positively impacted the community that it’s located in? A: Mathnasium of Evergreen Park has allowed this community to benefit from the best math resource in the country. We have positively impacted 100’s of kids and their families lives over the past 10 years. We have helped open doors to students that has allowed them to enter the Selective Enrollment and Catholic schools of their choice. Mathnasium has built the confidence of struggling students by developing a strong foundation in math. We have created a happy place in many of the homes that struggled every night trying to finish homework..

Q: Did you like math when you were in grade school? A: I have always loved math and enjoyed helping friends who struggled with it. I was consistently in the top 5% of my school in math and scored above grade level on State test.

Q: What do you think you would have liked most about Mathnasium if you had attended when you were in grade school? A: I would love how Mathnasium let’s you progress at your own pace. That would have given me the opportunity to complete algebra and geometry before I entered high school. That opportunity alone would have changed my educational and professional life forever.

Q: One last question, what’s something fun you enjoy doing in Evergreen Park? A: I spend all of my time in Evergreen Park shopping and eating when I am not working. You can also find me at the driving range hitting some golf balls as well.
