Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Alex

Instructor

Alex combines a strong technical background with a love for teaching. With a Master’s Degree in Materials Science and Engineering, he has experience teaching students from elementary levels all the way through calculus.  

At Mathnasium, Alex focuses on helping students build both confidence and problem-solving skills. He brings energy and patience to every session, always encouraging students to think critically and enjoy the learning process. When he’s not teaching math, Alex enjoys composing music, playing piano, and spending time outdoors hiking. 

Derek

Instructor

Derek combines a strong mathematical background with a passion for helping students succeed. Having completed advanced math through Calculus in highschool and continuing his coursework in college, he is currently studying to be a full-time educator.

At Mathnasium, Derek thrives in the fast-paced environment, bringing energy and patience to every session. As an aspiring teacher, he is dedicated to helping students tackle any challenge and build confidence. When he is not teaching math, Derek stays active by volunteering with a local basketball program, participating in his college fundraising club, traveling, and watching movies.

Chris

Instructor

Chris is a State Certified Math Teacher with a passion for helping students learn, grow, and gain confidence in their math skills. With a strong belief in the power of education, Chris finds deep satisfaction in making a difference in students' lives through personalized instruction and encouragement.

Outside the classroom, Chris enjoys solving puzzles and playing board games which are all activities reflecting a love for strategy, logic, and fun! As an Eagle Scout, Chris also brings a strong sense of leadership and perseverance to everything he does.

Chris is extremely passionate about being a part of the Mathnasium team and is committed to making math make sense for every student!

Sona

Instructor

Sona has been in advanced math since 7th grade and is currently taking Honors Precalculus. Outside the classroom, she participates in the Knitting and Crocheting Club, Code Club, and also plays the piano. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting and drawing.

Sona's favorite part of working at Mathnasium is teaching kids and helping them understand concepts they can use in the future.

Vivaan

Instructor

Vivaan brings a strong foundation in Honors-level math classes, paired with a passion for helping students succeed. He enjoys working closely with students and collaborating with fellow staff to create a positive learning environment.

Outside of math, Vivaan is active in debate, HOSA, and community outreach programs, and has interned at a nonprofit focused on brain tumor research. He’s also a dedicated athlete on his school tennis team and has played the drums for over seven years, combining discipline and creativity in everything he does.

Anna

Instructor

Anna has been part of advanced math programs since third grade and is currently taking calculus along with math-based science courses like physics and chemistry. She is an active member of her school’s tennis team and participates in HOSA as well as various STEM and service clubs.

Outside of academics, Anna enjoys playing the piano, public speaking, video editing, and learning new languages. Her favorite part about working at Mathnasium is connecting with students through shared experiences and hobbies, making learning math both fun and meaningful.

Nina

Instructor

Nina combines a passion for math with a drive toward future studies in engineering. Having excelled in advanced math since elementary school, she has completed coursework up through AP Calculus BC and Honors Discrete Math.

At Mathnasium, Nina enjoys helping kids discover both the academic and real-world applications of math. She brings an engaging and enthusiastic approach to every session to make difficult concepts approachable. Outside of the center, Nina plays bass guitar and violin and she enjoys spending her free time playing soccer and golf.

Margot

Instructor

Margot combines an exceptional academic track record with a natural talent for student leadership and mentorship. Having completed AP Calculus AB and currently taking AP Calculus BC, she brings advanced problem-solving skills and a strong mathematical foundation to her teaching.

At Mathnasium, Margot focuses on helping kids master essential, long-term math concepts while building confidence in their abilities. As Student Council President, Tennis Club President, and a Peer Leader, she excels at connecting with students, guiding them through challenges, and fostering a supportive learning environment. When she's not teaching math or writing as a student journalist, Margot enjoys staying active through weightlifting.

Jack

Instructor

Jack has taken honors level math classes throughout high school up through Calculus. Outside of the classroom, Jack stays active through tennis and enjoys biking as a favorite hobby.

At Mathnasium, Jack especially loves witnessing the "light bulb moments" when students suddenly understand a concept and feel proud of their progress.

Frank

Instructor

Frank is an aerospace engineering student at Rutgers University with tutoring experience in both group and individual settings. He has completed math through differential equations and took all honors and AP math courses in highschool. At Rutgers, he is involved in Formula Racing, RU Airborne, and the Chess Club. Outside of school, he enjoys anything related to cars and racing.

Frank's favorite part of working at Mathnasium is helping students understand new concepts and seeing their confidence grow.

Kasen

Instructor

Kasen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science and has experience teaching mathematics at both the high school and collegiate levels. He has participated in mathematics clubs at Gettysburg College and Raritan Valley Community College, where he worked on small-scale projects and applied mathematical concepts. Outside of teaching, he enjoys working on small systems projects, particularly developing control systems for microcontrollers.

Kasen enjoys working at Mathnasium because it gives him the opportunity to meet students where they are at and guide them through difficult concepts. He values helping students make connections and overcome challenges.

Eileen

Instructor

With 30 years of experience in education, including mathematics instructional support, Eileen brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to the Mathnasium team. She has worked closely with math teacher educators as a project coordinator, deepening her expertise in effective math instruction.

Eileen loves working with students and colleagues alike, finding great joy in fostering understanding and enthusiasm for math. Outside of teaching, she is passionate about pet rescue, reflecting her caring and compassionate nature.

Rebecca

Instructor

Rebecca has been enrolled in honors and advanced math classes since middle school. In addition to strong math experience, Rebecca is actively involved in several school organizations, including HOSA, Yearbook club, and Connect. Outside of school, Rebecca enjoys creating art and spending quality time with family and friends.

As a Mathnasium instructor, Rebecca loves working with students of all ages and helping them grow in confidence as they progress through new math concepts.

Megan

Instructor

Megan combines excellence in high-level mathematics with a more creative approach to teaching. Having excelled in advanced math since elementary school, she is a multi-time award winner in two of her school's math competitions, and currently serves as the President of the Math Honor Society.

At Mathnasium, Megan loves working directly with kids and finding creative, engaging ways to break down new concepts so every student can succeed. Her background in theater serving as President of her school's Thesbian Honor Society and performing in school & community productions, allows her to bring energy to her instruction. When she's not solving math problems or on stage, Megan enjoys spending her free time reading.
