Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Michelle Emmons

Center Director
Michelle joined the Mathnasium family in the summer of 2018 upon the opening of the Fort Myers location. She has a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and has taught for approximately 20 years in public schools in Indiana and Southwest Florida. Some of her favorite activities are spending time with her family and pets, reading, and doing crafts. She is a wonderful storyteller and keeps those around her constantly entertained and laughing. If you ever have a moment ask her about her role as a bird-ninja. She also keeps her center well fed and has the best stash of snacks. She strives to bring mathematical confidence and understanding to all students in the Fort Myers area!

Judy is a graduate of Purdue University. She has a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a second major in math. For the past 27 years, she has taught in Elementary Schools. Math was always Judy's favorite subject and she likes to spread her enthusiasm for it with others.

Lizzie is currently an underclassman studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Central Florida. She has been competing on math teams since she was in elementary school, and loves the challenges it throws at her. Also, Lizzie has been playing the violin since she was in second grade. She works for our @home platform, and enjoys sharing her love of math with others!

Shaun is technically almost a senior...senior citizen! With over 15 years in the field of education, Shaun has taught in both the private and public sectors and enjoys helping students not just understand math, but understand they can be their own best cheerleader.

Steve & Sandy Massey

Hello. We are Steve and Sandy Massey, owners/operators of Mathnasium of Fort Myers. Our relationship with Mathnasium began in 2012 when our son enrolled in Mathnasium to improve his Algebra skills. Our story may be similar to yours. After many evenings of ineffective homework help and frankly, lots of family stress, we went in search of math tutoring for our son. What we found was a math learning method that turned our son’s grades around in a few short months and profoundly spiked his overall confidence and interest in math. The Mathnasium method proved to be much more beneficial than one-on-one tutoring and improved our family life tremendously. We were so impressed with the Mathnasium model and the successful method of making math make sense that we've taken ownership of our fourth center here in Fort Myers.

Linda Roberts

Director of Growth
Linda grew up in Huntington, WV and is an avid fan of Marshall University football (Go Herd!). She earned her B.A. in Philosophy from West Virginia University and M.B.A. from Averett University. She comes to us after an 18-year career in higher education, where she has served as a Dean, Executive Director of Adult Programs, and Campus President. She is excited to serve the community and see children learn math while developing confidence each day. She has a nurturing approach to leadership and believes that the sky is truly the limit for all of our Mathnasium family!

Lillian Wray

Marketing Coordinator
Lillian is a freshman at The University of Cincinnati, where she is studying Industrial Design. She began her time at Mathnasium as an Instructor when she was a junior at Oviedo High School. Now, as the Marketing Coordinator, Lillian is excited to bring her design expertise to Mathnasium. While her passions have newly been focused on design, math has been a lasting love for Lillian since elementary school. It will forever be her favorite subject that helped shape her into the problem solver she is today.

Amanda Gisel

Area Manager
Amanda has been a part of the Mathnasium family since 2014. She enjoys bringing math knowledge, understanding, and fun to the local community. Amanda has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Central Florida and has years of experience working with schools, children, and education. Some of her favorite hobbies include watching TED Talks, traveling, and interacting with animals. Amanda loves working with children of all ages and watching the light bulb illuminate in their eyes when a concept "clicks" for them.

Juli Williams

Director of Operations
Juli has been with Mathnasium since 2017, with 12 years of management experience and 10+ years of experience working with students. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marine Biology from Florida Atlantic University. She loves working with students of all ages, and often says she herself is a child at heart! Her hobbies include running, reading, and loving all things Disney.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
