Ethan Nguyen holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from California State University, Long Beach. With a strong academic background in mathematics and computer science, Ethan brings both technical expertise and a passion for education to Mathnasium.
Throughout college, he tutored peers in math and computer science, developing a patient and effective teaching style. He believes a solid foundation in math is essential for lifelong success and enjoys helping students build that confidence. Outside of the center, Ethan enjoys learning new programming concepts, working out, and playing sports.
Dr. Jason Chan holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics from a university in China and earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Florida. After a successful 20-year career in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, Dr. Chan is now dedicated to helping students develop essential problem-solving skills.
Having tutored his daughter and her peers through high school and college, he brings experience and a deep understanding of math education to Mathnasium. In his free time, he enjoys reading and working in the yard.
Rafael, who is bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish, has a bachelor's degree in Software Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology. After working some time for software consulting corporations, he now turns his problem solving skills to a new challenge: teaching others how to develop and use critical thinking skills of their own. Although he started by just teaching Algebra to high school students, now Rafael works at Mathnasium of Fulshear to reach students of all ages at all math levels to achieve his goals of making math accessible to everyone. In his free time, Rafael likes to draw, watch cartoons, and study both STEM and linguistics.
Jackie Vanzine earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas at Dallas. With years of experience in peer tutoring programs, Jackie specializes in breaking down complex math and science topics into relatable, understandable lessons.
She sees math as a universal language that opens doors in every field and believes every student can succeed with the right guidance. At Mathnasium, Jackie creates a calm, supportive environment that encourages students to challenge themselves and grow. In her spare time, she enjoys cycling, swimming, and creating interactive art.
Rahul is studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Houston. He actively engages in engineering projects involving complex Mathematics & Engineering Design, Aerodynamics, and Atmospheric Physics. He is part of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the NASA Undergraduate Scientific Instrument Project, where he fosters learning for his peers by helping them partake in hands-on mathematical & engineering design challenges. He has also previously worked for Varsity Tutors as an Online Tutor for Junior High & High School math. Through these various experiences, he has gained a passion for teaching and an understanding of helping students overcome their difficulties so that they can truly strive to be successful. Outside of mathematics, Rahul has interests in music, watching sports, 3d printing, & boxing.
