Kinza is a dedicated New York State high school math teacher with a passion for helping students succeed in mathematics. With a warm, supportive, and encouraging approach, she creates a space where students feel safe to ask questions, take risks, and build their math confidence.
She brings years of classroom experience and a nurturing attitude to Mathnasium, making math both understandable and enjoyable. Outside of the center, Kinza enjoys spending time with her family, which inspires her commitment to fostering student growth and a welcoming atmosphere.

Lead Instructor
Dan studied both math and music at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and has been with Mathnasium of Glen Cove since it opened. His decade of instructional experience and unique perspective help him connect with students through creativity and logic.
He enjoys showing the parallels between math and music, which are both disciplines grounded in precision and patterns. Dan recently earned a master’s degree in Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. Outside the classroom, he enjoys hiking, reading, birdwatching, and sharing math jokes like: “Why do mathematicians avoid the beach? They already have sine and cosine!”

Outside of Mathnasium, Erica plays tennis, spends time with friends and family, and reads in her spare time. Mr James is a dedicated high school science teacher who brings his passion for math to Mathnasium, where he loves teaching young students. With a background in both science and mathematics, he finds joy in helping kids understand math concepts, making the subject fun and engaging. James is especially skilled at breaking down complex ideas into easy-to-understand steps, inspiring students to see the beauty of math in the world around them. He values the opportunity to help children strengthen their math abilities all whilst keeping them engaged!

Tessa is has graduated with a BA In Mathematics from the College of the Holy Cross. Some of her favorite math classes throughout the years include algebra II, geometry, modern algebra, and mathematical modeling in biology. She plans to continue her graduate studies in pure math at Lehigh University. As a former Mathnasium student, she understands the value of strong math teaching and support, and works to give kids the same math support she received. She believes all kids can succeed in math if taught correctly. Outside of studying math, Tessa loves to read, explore nature, and spend time with her mom. If you see her, be sure to ask her about her experience as a Mathnasium kid!
