Dan

Center Director

Dan Wilson, Center Director of Mathnasium of Glen Ellyn. Dan earned his bachelor's degree from Elmhurst University in Mathematics with a minor in Spanish and his master's degree from Concordia University in Curriculum & Instruction: Mathematics (Grades K - 14). On top of working at Mathnasium, Dan is also a college professor at Elmhurst University and College of DuPage. He is a recent recipient of the NISOD Excellence Award in Mathematcs, which honors the remarkable contributions of faculty, staff, and administrators who shape the futures of community and technical college students.

Dan lives, eats, and breathes mathematics. To him, math is not just a subject, it's a verb. You can hear him say, "I can just math all day long." His favorite math course to teach is Geometry. There is even one Honors Geometry textbook that many schools use in the area that he has almost memorized from all the times he worked with students from that textbook. When he is not "math-ing," you can find him playing volleyball, indoor rock climbing, or training for the 15K Tough Mudder.

Faizan

Instructor

Faizan is currently a college sophomore where is majoring in Health Sciences (Pre-Dental Route). His favorite math subject is Geometry, because of all the shapes and theorems one encounters in the course. In his spare time, he likes to play soccer with friends. Teaching math to the Mathnasium students brings him joy with every opportunity that comes his way.

Ian

Instructor

Ian is currently a junior at St. Francis High School and loves all things math related. He is currently enrolled in AP Calculus BC and has been involved in the math team since middle school. Most recently, he came in first place at a Math Team Competition. Besides math, Ian is also involved in Cross Country and Track at his school. On top of that, Ian volunteers for the Glen Ellyn Children’s Resource Center.

Nooriya

Instructor

Nooriya is a sophomore at Wheaton Warrenville South and is currently enrolled in Honors Precalculus. She is a member of Key Club and the Robotics team. Currently, her Robotics team made it to the next round where they compete against other schools across the country. In her spare time, Nooriya likes to spend time with her family/friends as well as catching up on a great novel.

Simona

Instructor

Simona is a high school senior at Glenbard South. She loves math, especially getting to teach it to others. She will attend the University of Notre Dame this fall to pursue further studies in the STEM field. Outside of Mathnasium, Simona spends her time volunteering in the NICU at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital. She also helps run her school’s newspaper, The Independent, as an editor-in-chief. She hopes to inspire each kid to strive for their best at Mathnasium, in the classroom, and beyond.

Our Mathnasium Mission
