Carol has always enjoyed math and began her college career studying engineering. Although she ultimately worked in business, her love for math and interest in teaching remained strong. After homeschooling her son for several years, Carol joined Mathnasium of Golden Valley following retirement.
Now, she enjoys making a difference in students’ lives by helping them build confidence and deepen their understanding of math. Carol is passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences and supporting each student’s individual growth.
Bob holds a degree in Secondary Education – Mathematics and brings both classroom and learning center experience to Mathnasium. While he currently works as an accountant for a financial services company, he’s excited to work part-time with students again.
He’s a compassionate and dedicated instructor who finds joy in helping students grasp new math concepts. Outside of Mathnasium, Bob enjoys being active in his church community and spending time outdoors biking, hiking, and camping.
Described by one student as a “Math Ninja,” Eugene brings a wide range of teaching experience to Mathnasium, including roles as a college TA, classroom teacher, and private tutor. He loves helping students of all ages connect with math in a meaningful way.
Eugene is especially motivated by the “Aha!” moments when a concept finally clicks. His patient and encouraging approach helps students move past frustration and discover the satisfaction of truly understanding math.
Judy leads Mathnasium of Golden Valley with passion and dedication, ensuring every student and parent receives the support they need. With a warm, approachable leadership style, she creates a welcoming environment where learning and confidence flourish.
As the heart of the center, Judy works tirelessly to make sure each child receives caring guidance and personalized instruction. Her commitment to math education and student success shapes everything the center does.
Joe co-founded Mathnasium of Golden Valley and plays a key role in supporting the center’s operations behind the scenes. He focuses on optimizing technology, logistics, and scheduling systems to make the learning experience seamless for students and parents alike.
Joe also ensures that each student’s learning plan aligns with the Mathnasium Method™ and is designed for maximum impact. His work helps create a structured, effective environment where students can thrive.
As a former high school math teacher, Emma loves that Mathnasium continues to give her the opportunity to talk about math with students. She majored in math in college and hopes to spread her love of the subject with the students she interacts with. She is currently starting a new career as a software engineer. In her free time, Emma enjoys playing and coaching softball, snowboarding, and playing cribbage.
Derek has always had a passion for math. Prior to joining the team at Mathnasium, he was involved in Math Club growing up and has been a math tutor in multiple settings. He earned a degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of St. Thomas and is currently working in the Actuarial industry. Even though math was always his favorite class, he knows that it’s not always everyone else’s, which is why he loves having the opportunity to help students improve on their skills and gain a better understanding and appreciation of math.
Prathiksha has a love for music, science, and especially math. She wants kids to have confidence in math, and not be afraid to ask questions. She knows how much a teacher can make an impact on students, and desires to do the same as a Mathnasium instructor. She is so grateful to have the opportunity to work with friendly coworkers and joyful students.
Daniel became an instructor for Mathnasium after graduating from St. Cloud State University in 2022 with a mathematics education degree. Daniel truly loves teaching and helping students understand the intricacies of mathematics, to make it not only easy to understand, but fun and memorable as well. Daniel has liked math ever since elementary school, and knew he wanted to be a teacher ever since middle school. His high school and college professors are whom he is inspired by to become the best teacher he can be.
Ellie, a high school senior with a passion for engineering and a math student at the University of Minnesota, has truly enjoyed her time at Mathnasium. She loves being able to share her enthusiasm for math with students, helping them overcome obstacles and build confidence in their abilities. The supportive team and the joy of seeing her students succeed make every day at Mathnasium a rewarding experience.
Nolan is a student at Crown College and loves working at Mathnasium and helping kids understand and have fun with math. He works part-time at Mathnasium and is also a DJ instructor at Bach to Rock in Plymouth.
