Meet our advanced math instructor: Lisa! Lisa has some truly exceptional math skills and is likely to spend most of her time at Grandville working with our older students. She recently (just earlier this month!) earned her degree in Math Education from GVSU. While she is capable of tutoring through Calculus, (if not beyond) her favorite math class was good ole Euclidean Geometry. Lisa is quite the world traveler, and we are sure her students will gain so much more than just math skills from working with her!
Meet our awesome instructor, Brady! He is currently studying accounting and finance at GVSU. In addition to his sweet math skills, Brady has some pretty unique talents, like being able to solve a rubiks cube under water in one breath! When he was in high school, he was on the baseball and swimming teams, and his favorite class was Algebra 1. In his free time he plays chess, we'll see if he can get any of our Grandville students to choose a quick chess match for their end-of-session game!
Meet another one of our AWESOME instructors: Aamir. A truly exceptional young lady, Aamir will be receiving her Associates Degree in Medical Assisting next year- she completed much of the course work for this degree while still in high school! Aamir has always really enjoyed math and has taken several advanced courses, her favorite so far was Pre-Calculus. She has been peer-tutoring her classmates for years, but is excited to transfer her skills to her role with us at Mathnasium!
Pam is a bilingual instructor at Mathnasium with several years of tutoring experience. She enjoys working with students of all grade levels and especially likes teaching Algebra.
She believes math becomes easier when students feel supported and encouraged. Outside of Mathnasium, she enjoys exploring local trails and spending time with her family pets, including three cats and a dog. She brings warmth, patience, and enthusiasm to every session.
Maylin is an instructor at Mathnasium and a student at Grand Valley State University studying Medical Laboratory Sciences. She enjoys helping others and hopes to minor in biology or sustainability.
Her favorite math classes include Algebra II and Pre-Calculus, and she enjoys helping students apply what they learn. Outside of Mathnasium, she plays multiple musical instruments and enjoys spending time with her orange tabby cat, Simba.
Alli is an instructor at Mathnasium with a strong background in advanced math, particularly probability and AP-level coursework. She enjoys supporting students who need help staying focused and building confidence.
She believes patience and encouragement are key to student success. Outside of teaching, she enjoys baking for friends and family and shopping for thrifted clothing. She especially enjoys welcoming new students and helping them feel comfortable with math.
Meet McKenzie, one of our newest instructors! She is very excited to be working with us, and putting her excellent math skills to good use. Like a few of our other team members, her math experience includes some AP (Advanced Placement) math coursework. Despite her advanced math skills, one of her favorite classes was Algebra 1. McKenzie has 9 pets at home, which we are sure her students will enjoy hearing about!
