Hello, my name is Stephanie! I always like sharing with students that when I was in high school, I almost didn’t graduate because I struggled with math. It wasn’t until I went to college and learned how to move past some of the learning roadblocks that I had that I was able to fully grasp it and eventually went on to get my Bachelors degree in mathematics. Which at the time seemed like a crazy idea. I went on to teach 9-12 grade in Tucson, AZ for two years before moving to Connecticut to get my Masters degree in Data Analytics. I understand what it means to struggle with math which has really fueled my passion to help kids understand and be successful with their own math journeys. I am excited to continue helping kids achieve their own success and find those “Aha” moments that will make them love math too.
Hi, my name is Mark! I graduated from Iona University with a Bachelor's in Mathematics, and a particular area of interest in Game Theory. I have always found math to be engaging, and I strongly believe that skill in math is a result of practice and patience. It is my hope that I will be able to share my passion for math with students, and help them see how compelling the subject really can be.
Hi, I'm Matilda, and I use any pronouns. I have a passion for hiking, reading, and math. I majored in philosophy in college, and for the past three summers, I’ve tutored children aged 8-17 in subjects like writing, math, history, and piano. I joined Mathnasium because I truly miss teaching and working with kids. Helping children not only understand but also enjoy math brings me a deep sense of fulfillment. I can relate to the struggles some students face—back in high school, I had a hard time with math myself and didn’t have a tutor. Through trial and error, though, I figured it out and discovered strategies that worked for me. From my teaching experience, I’m confident that with the right approach, any child can master any subject.
Hi everyone! My name is Miki (pronounced like Mickey Mouse °o°) and I use she/her pronouns. This is my 5th year in education and 4th year supporting students specifically in math. Most of my experience is as an elementary classroom teacher in Bridgeport, CT, and I have also served the Norwalk community and New Haven community in non-traditional educator roles. These experiences have fostered a passion in education, particularly math learning in the US! As someone who struggled in the subject area as a child, I'm motivated to make math feel accessible, relatable and easy to understand. My hope is that kids gain as many tools in their educational toolkit as possible so they have endless opportunities presented to them as they grow older.
My name is Vibhu Vajpayee, and my commitment to helping others grow and learn coupled with my excellence in math lead me to Mathnasium. I am passionate about making math engaging and digestible for students of all levels. Throughout high school, I taught a chess class which granted me the ability to break down complex concepts into simple steps, developing confidence and critical thinking skills with my students. In addition to my teaching experience, I have excelled in advanced math courses, developing a strong foundation in problem-solving and logical reasoning. At Mathnasium, I look forward to helping students build their skills, overcome challenges, and discover their potential.
