Suneet Jain

Owner
My entire adult life has revolved around being a math educator, and helping others get better at math. I started my journey as an educator over 12 years ago as a member of the Math department at my college, where I worked with fellow students to help them get through their college Math courses. Since then I've earned a Master's degree in Math Education from Columbia University, and been a high school Math teacher at schools in New York City and Long Island, NY where I taught courses ranging from Algebra I to Calculus. I've run a Mathnasium ranked in the top 10 performing centers nationwide, and currently own another center that ranks top 10 in the entire northeast region. I'm excited to now bring top quality Math education to the Greenwich community, and to get kids pumped about Math!

Stephanie Dayana Crocker Baez-Mendez

Lead Instructor

Hello, my name is Stephanie! I always like sharing with students that when I was in high school, I almost didn’t graduate because I struggled with math. It wasn’t until I went to college and learned how to move past some of the learning roadblocks that I had that I was able to fully grasp it and eventually went on to get my Bachelors degree in mathematics. Which at the time seemed like a crazy idea. I went on to teach 9-12 grade in Tucson, AZ for two years before moving to Connecticut to get my Masters degree in Data Analytics. I understand what it means to struggle with math which has really fueled my passion to help kids understand and be successful with their own math journeys. I am excited to continue helping kids achieve their own success and find those “Aha” moments that will make them love math too.

Nancy Stone

Instructor
I came to Mathnasium from a private school in Boston. Having taught Math and Art History to students in Grades 3 - 9 for ten years. I relocated to Greenwich to be near my adult children. As both a parent and an educator, I bring a unique perspective to teaching at Mathnasium. As a parent, I understand the issues, expectations and worries facing many parents. As an educator, I know the daily challenges, opportunities, and delights that working with young people can provide. Here at Mathnasium, teaching a fresh perspective on Math, we identify each student's unique learning style as well as assess their Math competency. This focus creates a unique learning plan targeted for each student's success. So, why spend my afternoons teaching at Mathnasium? I'll tell you why. When I facilitate an "Ah-ha" moment with a student(s), my heart does cartwheels. Literally. Nothing brings me greater joy than watching a student understand a new concept, or connect an abstract thought to something concrete. It also makes my heart sing. This is why I surround myself with students. What a lucky opportunity!

It has also shown me how much I enjoy teaching others. My favorite part of Mathnasium is that we are able to make learning something enjoyable, something that I think everyone should be able to experience. Growing understanding and changing the way kids think of math is my goal, and I am so lucky that I have been given the opportunity to do it here at Mathnasium.

Isha Bharti

Instructor
Hi, my name is Isha Bharti. My deep-seated passion for math has driven me to share this enthusiasm with others. Over the years, I’ve enjoyed tutoring my younger sister and neighborhood kids, which has honed my ability to explain complex concepts in an understandable way. My approach is patient, encouraging, and tailored to each student's unique learning style. I am excited to work at Mathnasium and have the opportunity to share my love of math with others. Outside of school, I enjoy competitive rock climbing due to its problem-solving nature. Much like math, climbing often presents multiple ways to reach the solution.

I have always found math to be engaging, and I strongly believe that skill in math is a result of practice and patience. It is my hope that I will be able to share my passion for math with students, and help them see how compelling the subject really can be.

Matilda Fu

Instructor

Hi, I'm Matilda, and I use any pronouns. I have a passion for hiking, reading, and math. I majored in philosophy in college, and for the past three summers, I’ve tutored children aged 8-17 in subjects like writing, math, history, and piano. I joined Mathnasium because I truly miss teaching and working with kids. Helping children not only understand but also enjoy math brings me a deep sense of fulfillment. I can relate to the struggles some students face—back in high school, I had a hard time with math myself and didn’t have a tutor. Through trial and error, though, I figured it out and discovered strategies that worked for me. From my teaching experience, I’m confident that with the right approach, any child can master any subject.

Miki Tanahashi

Instructor

Hi everyone! My name is Miki (pronounced like Mickey Mouse °o°) and I use she/her pronouns. This is my 5th year in education and 4th year supporting students specifically in math. Most of my experience is as an elementary classroom teacher in Bridgeport, CT, and I have also served the Norwalk community and New Haven community in non-traditional educator roles. These experiences have fostered a passion in education, particularly math learning in the US! As someone who struggled in the subject area as a child, I'm motivated to make math feel accessible, relatable and easy to understand. My hope is that kids gain as many tools in their educational toolkit as possible so they have endless opportunities presented to them as they grow older.

Vibhu Vajpayee

Instructor

My name is Vibhu Vajpayee, and my commitment to helping others grow and learn coupled with my excellence in math lead me to Mathnasium. I am passionate about making math engaging and digestible for students of all levels. Throughout high school, I taught a chess class which granted me the ability to break down complex concepts into simple steps, developing confidence and critical thinking skills with my students. In addition to my teaching experience, I have excelled in advanced math courses, developing a strong foundation in problem-solving and logical reasoning. At Mathnasium, I look forward to helping students build their skills, overcome challenges, and discover their potential.

Zoe Rieder

Instructor
Hi, my name is Zoe Rieder. Before I was an instructor, I was actually a student here at Mathnasium throughout elementary and middle school. Math was a subject I use to struggle with a lot. I found it hard, often too complicated. These days it's one of my favorite parts of my day, and I want to help students feel the same way! When I'm not doing math, I'm a massive fan of watching sports, movies, and musical theatre. I'm so excited to work here and help students the same way Mathnasium helped me!

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
