Matthew is the Center Director at Mathnasium of Guilford. He has loved mathematics and puzzles from a young age and discovered early on that he also enjoys helping others learn. He began teaching during college as a summer program instructor and personal tutor, later expanding his work to underserved schools where he introduced students to coding and robotics.
He joined Mathnasium in 2021 and continues to enjoy supporting students as they grow in confidence and skill. Outside of work, Matthew enjoys hiking, playing video games, and spending time with his dogs.
Drew is the Assistant Director at Mathnasium of Guilford and has a background in computer science and programming. His passion for teaching led him to work as a curriculum developer in cybersecurity and later as a cybersecurity consultant. In 2024, he transitioned into education full-time and is grateful to be part of the Mathnasium community.
Drew enjoys helping students build confidence in math through supportive, engaging instruction. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, drawing, painting, and playing board games.
Alyssa is a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University, where she majored in Chemistry and Biology. She has been tutoring students in math and science since her freshman year and enjoys helping learners gain independence and confidence as they master challenging topics.
Her passion for education led her to Mathnasium, where she continues supporting students through clear explanations and positive encouragement. When she is not teaching, Alyssa enjoys trying new baking recipes and diving into a good book.
Molly is a sophomore at Guilford High School with a strong interest in science and math. Molly currently takes AP Pre Calculus, and loves doing math and helping others learn math. She spent ten years doing competitive gymnastics before transitioning to diving in high school. After highschool, Molly wants to work in the medical field as a doctor. Outside of academics, Molly volunteers with Guilfords Pilgrim Fellowship Program, helping underserved communities around the country and in her free time, she loves spending time with friends, going to the beach, and practicing piano.
Conor is a sophomore at Guilford High School, where he finds passion in his STEM-oriented courses, gaining the most enjoyment in his math classes. This love led him to pursue becoming an Instructor at Mathnasium of Guilford, where he believes that communication and positivity is key to supporting and improving students’ math skills. He loved taking AP Chemistry and AP Precalculus this past school year, and hopes to pursue medicine. Outside of school, Conor is a member of the Unified Sports Program and Pilgrim Fellowship of The First Church of Guilford, assisting those in need in the community. He loves music; he plays the guitar, piano, and clarinet. In his free time, you’ll find Conor spending time with his family and friends, working out, baking, or doing anything soccer-related.
Brad opened Mathnasium of Guilford in 2018. He grew up in Guilford and loved both sports and the performing arts. He lived in San Francisco and, while there, worked with inner city kids and shared his love of nature by leading wilderness trips for the kids. He holds a black belt in Aikido and encourages all Mathnasium students to achieve mastery in math and all areas of their lives. Brad's journey to Mathnasium started with being inspired by one of the core philosophies - teaching math in a way that makes sense to the child.
Amina brings a strong passion for mathematics and learning to the Mathnasium community. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Math from SUNY Old Westbury and continued her academic journey by pursuing her Master’s degree at SUNY Albany. Her dedication to the subject reflects her belief that math is both powerful and deeply rewarding to understand.
Outside of work, Amina enjoys listening to music, drawing, and playing video games in her free time. What she loves most about working with students is watching their confidence grow—especially when they begin to master topics that once felt challenging. Helping students realize they are capable of more than they thought is what makes teaching so meaningful to her.
Max is a proud student at Guilford High School and a dedicated percussionist who loves making music every chance he gets. Whether it’s rehearsals or live concerts, you can almost always find him behind a set of drums, bringing energy and rhythm to every performance.
Having been part of the Mathnasium community for the past three years as a student, Max has experienced firsthand the positive and supportive environment that makes the center so special. Inspired by that experience, he is excited to join the team as an instructor, where he enjoys helping other students grow in confidence and discover that math can be both engaging and fun.
Kevin is excited to be part of the community, having moved to the area last summer. With experience teaching elementary school in Colorado and running an Aftercare program in Maine, he brings a strong foundation in education and a genuine love for working with students.
After relocating to be closer to family, Kevin settled in with his wife, Jess, along with their black cat, Oliver, and scruffy dog, Jerry. A lifelong love of science naturally led to an appreciation for math as a powerful way to explore and better understand the world around us.
When not in the classroom, Kevin enjoys spending time with pets, diving into video games, designing and making custom t-shirts, and keeping an eye out for interesting backyard birds.
Shane is a junior at Guilford High School and has loved math since elementary school. What started as his favorite subject has grown into a deeper appreciation through teaching and helping other students discover that math can be something to enjoy, not just complete.
He comes from a big family with three older brothers and shares his home with two cats. Outside of school and teaching, Shane enjoys watching football, listening to music, and spending time with friends. Looking ahead, he hopes to use his math skills to pursue a degree in business after graduation and is excited about the opportunities that strong analytical skills can create.
