Frances has a background in mathematics, earning her bachelor’s degree in mathematics with a concentration in Biology from CSU San Bernardino before completing her graduate studies in Epidemiology at UC Irvine. Her experiences in mathematics, research, and education have shaped her passion for helping others learn and grow. As Center Director at Mathnasium, she enjoys combining her love of math with her commitment to supporting students, families, and instructors. She strives to create a comfortable and welcoming environment where students can build both their mathematical skills and confidence, while bringing a personal investment in the success and well-being of each student she works with. On her free time, she likes to garden, scrapbook/journal, and try new food places.
Harper is currently an undergraduate student majoring in Biological Sciences at Citrus College. During high school. She volunteered caring for children with special needs and, as a math enthusiast, participated in Academic Decathlon and Science Olympiad. After high school, she continued their passion for learning and began working at Mathnasium as an instructor. Harper believes all students can succeed and that patience is key to helping them grow and learn. One fun fact about her is that she is ambidextrous.
Jason graduated from CalPoly Pomona with a Master's Degree in Mathematics. With his background, he is interested in actuarial science. Since middle school he has always taken interest in helping his peers and helping them understand math concepts better to review for test. Now, he has brought his talent and passion to Mathnasium. Jason enjoys helping students understand math by meeting them where they are in their journey and teaching the Mathnasium method to make math a simple and efficient process. In his free time, he likes to play videogames, build LEGOS, and play the piano.
Brandon is currently attending Cal Poly Pomona, majoring in Biotechnology. He has loved math from a young age and enjoys learning new concepts and challenging himself. He also has a strong interest in biology and hopes to combine his interests in math and science to one day create robotic prosthetics. Outside of school, Brandon enjoys playing video games, reading about psychology, and solving puzzles.
Deyi Chen earned an associate degree in Mathematics from Mt. San Antonio College and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from UC Irvine. While attending Mt. SAC, she tutored peers in math and physics at the TECH Center. Deyi enjoys solving mathematical challenges and helping others discover the fun and satisfaction of working through problems. She aims to build students' confidence by breaking down concepts into simple, manageable steps and celebrating their progress. In her free time, she enjoys listening to lo-fi music, watching Studio Ghibli films, and exploring photography.
Timothy is currently studying at CalPoly Pomona as a Biology Major with hopes of doing research and going to grad school. Growing up, Timothy was always curious about math and its practical uses. He believes that the best way to comprehend a subject it to be able to teach it and help others. When not focused on his studies, Timothy likes to hang out with his friends on video games such as Overwatch and Minecraft.
Clinton is currently studying Business Administration at Mt. SAC and has a strong background in mathematics, having completed courses such as Calculus and Statistics with A’s. Having once struggled with math himself, he understands the challenges students can face and enjoys helping them build confidence and succeed. He takes a patient, step-by-step approach to teaching and looks for different ways to explain concepts when needed. Outside of school, Clinton enjoys listening to music, going for drives, and exploring new places to eat.
