Riley

Assistant Center Director
Riley Roca grew up in Clarendon Hills and always enjoyed learning math and science in school. He recently finished his degree in physics and spent time tutoring math and physics in college. He enjoys teaching at Mathnasium because he is passionate about math and explaining it to others. When he's not at Mathnasium he enjoys spending time outdoors or being with his family.

Ellen

Lead Instructor
Ellen graduated from Northen Illinois University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, and a minor in Math. She later recieved her Master's degree in Math Education from National Lewis University. Ellen began her career teaching at the elementary level. Then, her passion for math inspired her to specialize, so Ellen moved on to teach Middle School math. Over the years she taught at many levels, from remedial classes to Honors Algebra 1. Ellen taught on the North Shore for over a decade, and then in a Northwest suburb until she retired. She loves working with students on a more individualized basis, so she was excited when she discovered Mathnasium. "Not only does an understanding of math result in academic accomplishments, but it also enables students to more clearly interperet their world. The mathnasium program is an outstanding resource, and I look forward to helping students understand and enjoy math."

Tucker Bishop

Lead Instructor
Tucker graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology. He has a passion for helping students feel comfortable and confident while completing their work, and always tries to make each student's day a bit brighter.

Yash

Instructor
Yash Gupta is currently a junior at Hinsdale Central High School taking Multivariable Calculus. Yash has always enjoyed math because he saw math problems as puzzle and fun challenges for him to solve. Because of this, he was driven to work at mathnasium to help others find that same enthusiasm for math.

Elizabeth

Instructor
Elizabeth is currently in AP Calc BC and loves math because it is the universal language that connects us all and always has a process and answer to a problem. She likes working at Mathnasium because it provides her with the opportunity to teach kids and watch them grow with guidance and skills that’ll support them throughout their life.

Dominic

Instructor
My name is Dominic Kent and I am a junior at Lyons Township. I chose to work at Mathnasium Becuase I want to give children the opportunity that I was so lucky to have when I was younger. I am now taking multiple AP math courses aspiring to become a mechanical engineer at the University of Illinois.

Sachin Thakrar

Instructor
Hi I’m Sachin! I’m a senior at Hinsdale Central high school, and am interested in possibly going into teaching later in life. I myself used to be a student here and jumped at the opportunity to help kids the same way this place helped me. Math has long been one of my favorite subjects, and I hope to spark the same love inside the kids here too.

Omar

Center Owner
Omar graduated from the Northwestern University McCormick School of Engineering with a bachelor of science in civil engineering. After working as a civil engineer for three years following graduation, Omar fed his hunger for entrepreneurship by starting his own construction business, which is still in operation today. Omar was drawn to Mathnasium because it offered something different from other after-school instructional programs, particularly its focus on practical elements of math such as problem solving and mental math. Omar serves on the boards of two private schools in the Western Suburbs of Chicago where he lives with his wife and their three children.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
