Al

Assistant Center Director

Al is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Counseling at the University of North Carolina, specializing in school counseling and special education. They bring a strong passion for student success and data-driven learning to the Mathnasium team. 

Outside of Mathnasium, Al works at the Carolina Renaissance Festival, where they direct and supervise the teen performance troupe. Their dedication to fostering creativity and growth helps their students thrive both academically and personally. 

Amanda

Owner and Education Director

Amanda is the proud owner of Mathnasium of Huntersville and Mathnasium of Mooresville. She holds both a B.S. and M.S. in Environmental Engineering, from NC State and Virginia Tech respectively. 

With over a decade of experience teaching and tutoring students of all ages, Amanda is passionate about helping children understand math in a way that makes sense to them. She’s dedicated to sharing her love of math and bringing the Mathnasium Method™ to her community.

Carol

Lead Instructor

Carol has decades of teaching experience at the high school and college levels, including earning Teacher of the Year honors in South Florida. After teaching in Saint Louis for 10 years, she relocated to North Carolina to be closer to her daughters and grandchildren. 

Her most treasured memory is receiving a note from a student that said, “Thank you for helping me learn to love math!”, which is a goal she continues to achieve every day at Mathnasium. 

George

Instructor

George graduated from North Carolina A and T State University with a degree in Architectural Engineering. Throughout his professional career George has worked in many professions but a major focus of his has been education. George began his education career as an Assistant Professor at Northern Virginia Community College. In his most recent position he was a 4th grade math, science and social studies teacher in Las Vegas, NV. George has a passion for helping others and contributing positively to his community. 

Rebecca

Instructor

Rebecca is a senior at Hopewell High School and loves teaching, math, and teaching math! She's a passionate, enthusiastic learner who loves to help others and is hoping to enroll in Calculus this year. She wants to help students excel in math, and have fun doing it! Rebecca is graduating in 2027, and hoping to go to college and get her master's degree in Speech Language Pathology. She is exponentially eager to show students their full capabilities and help build their excitement and confidence about math - the limit to these kids' potential truly does not exist!
