Al

Assistant Center Director

Al is a Masters in Counseling student at University of North Carolina, specializing in school counseling and special education. In addition to working at Mathnasium, Al has worked at the Carolina Renaissance Festival directing and supervising the teen performance troupe. They have a passion for student success and data driven interventions.

Amanda

Owner

Amanda is the Owner of Mathnasium of Huntersville and Mathnasium of Mooresville. Prior to opening her Mathnasium Learning Centers, Amanda was a graduate student at Virginia Tech where she received an MS in Environmental Engineering. She also has a BS in Environmental Engineering from NC State. Amanda has always loved math and wants to share her enthusiasm with kids of all ages. As a tutor and instructor for more than a decade, Amanda is passionate about explaining concepts by teaching people in a way that makes sense to them. She has taught and tutored children of all ages, and she is committed to bringing the Mathnasium Method to the children in the Huntersville community.

Gillian

Lead Instructor

Gillian is a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. She has loved math from a very young age and believes that, given the right support, every student can find a bit of that love in their own heart! It’s her goal to help kids become more confident and independent learners and develop problem-solving skills that will serve them both inside and outside of the classroom.

Carol

Lead Instructor
Carol taught and tutored for many years at the high school level in South Florida, where she was voted Teacher of the Year at her school. She moved to Saint Louis when her mother had a stroke and taught at the community college there for 10 years. When her daughters moved to North Carolina, she relocated to be near them and her grandchildren. Her most rewarding memory was a note she received from one of her students, which said, “Thank you for helping me learn to love math!”-which remains her goal for every student here.

Oliver

Instructor

Oliver is a senior at Hough High School. He has always enjoyed helping his peers in all subjects, especially math. He has excelled in math throughout his education and loves to find new ways to teach people. He wants to share his love for math to all others because he feels math is something that applies in an infinite number of situations and is one of the greatest skills to have. Outside of the workplace, Oliver plays trombone and plays with his dogs. He hopes to pursue an engineering degree after high school.

Camille

Instructor

Camille is a senior at Hough High School. Math has always been Camille's favorite subject in school because it has taught her important lessons. She has always enjoyed helping her classmates and friends with math and is passionate about helping others. Camille hopes to study physics when she goes to college.

George

Instructor

George graduated from North Carolina A and T State University with a degree in Architectural Engineering. Throughout his professional career George has worked in many professions but a major focus of his has been education. George began his education career as an Assistant Professor at Northern Virginia Community College. In his most recent position he was a 4th grade math, science and social studies teacher in Las Vegas, NV. George has a passion for helping others and contributing positively to his community. 

Jack

Instructor

Jack is a rising senior at Woodlawn School in Mooresville and has a deep passion for mathematics. After experiencing the transformative impact of Mathnasium for himself, he felt inspired to share that joy and growth with others. He has always taken pleasure in assisting his friends and classmates with their studies, and he is eager to extend his support to the broader community. Upon graduating from high school, Jack plans to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering, where he hopes to apply his love for math and problem-solving in innovative ways.
