Kimberly Smythe

Outreach / Co-Founder

Kimberly brings more than 32 years of hands-on experience in mathematics education, organization, and operational leadership to Mathnasium of Jacksonville North. As a homeschooling mother of 13 children, she developed and managed individualized K–12 learning programs, coordinated multiple grade levels, and adapted math instruction to meet each child’s unique needs.

Kimberly also served as Farm Manager for Rehoboth Farm, a family-owned dairy and organic produce operation in Bristol, Virginia. She oversaw daily operations, production schedules, regulatory compliance, distribution, and quality control. Her extensive experience managing complex responsibilities with patience, consistency, and attention to detail helps support a welcoming and well-organized learning environment for Mathnasium students and families.

Kimberly studied music at The King's College in Briarcliff Manor, New York, and enjoys serving as the pianist at Amelia Baptist Church on Amelia Island, in Fernandina Beach.

Dan Smythe

Marketing / Co-Founder

Dan brings more than 35 years of leadership and management experience across technology, business operations, product delivery, and U.S. military and government programs. Most recently, as Director of Software and Artificial Intelligence at Duos Technologies in Jacksonville, he led cross-functional teams developing advanced software and AI solutions for major railroad clients while partnering with executive leadership on strategy and execution.

Dan began his career as a U.S. Army officer and Army Aviator (UH-60 Blackhawks), serving in command and operational leadership assignments in the United States and overseas. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after more than 20 years of military service. Dan brings this extensive leadership experience to Mathnasium of Jacksonville North, where he is committed to supporting the center team and creating an organized, encouraging environment in which students can build confidence and succeed.

Dan has a Batchelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the US Military Academy at West Point, New York, and a Master of Science degree in Software Systems Engineering from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
