Nigam and Shilpa Mehta are the owners of Mathnasium of Kendall Park and share a deep passion for math education. Nigam holds a master’s degree in Computer Science with over 18 years of experience in the high-tech industry, while Shilpa brings more than 17 years of expertise in corporate finance and accounting.
As parents of two sons, they understand the challenges students face and the importance of a strong mathematical foundation. The Mehtas are committed to helping children build confidence, strengthen problem-solving skills, and succeed academically while making a positive impact in their local community.
Cherylann Vanderhide is the Center Director at Mathnasium of Kendall Park, where she is dedicated to helping students build confidence and success in math. With over 20 years of experience in the EdTech and the Certification space, Cherylann brings deep expertise in educational content, assessment, and learning design.
Passionate about making learning fun and engaging, Cherylann truly believes in Mathnasium’s proven methodology and its ability to meet students where they are. Through strong leadership and thoughtful center management, she is committed to ensuring every student receives a personalized learning experience that supports their growth and long-term success.
Cherylann holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and is also a certified Psychometric Test Professional, Learning & Development Manager and a Master Trainer & Facilitator.
Shravya loves math for its creativity and problem-solving, she sees every question as a puzzle with multiple paths to success. As a tutor, she enjoys helping students feel confident and capable in math. Shravya is actively involved in several academic and service organizations, including HOSA, Science League, Biomedical Futures, and DECA, and volunteers with the Princeton Arts Council. As a Junior Assistant Scoutmaster, she also enjoys her experience working with children and teaching them new skills.
Shravya is a senior at South Brunswick High School, She is currently pursuing advanced math coursework, including Honors Algebra II, Honors Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus AB.
Sowjanya is a patient, engaging, and encouraging mentor who enjoys helping students understand challenging concepts and develop confidence in their abilities. Her experience teaching coding and STEM to middle school students, along with her work as a SAT Math tutor, has strengthened her ability to explain concepts clearly, create engaging learning experiences, and adapt to different student needs.
Sowjanya is a Rutgers University–New Brunswick student majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Dean’s List student. Her academic background includes AP Calculus AB, AP Statistics, and AP Computer Science A. She has also earned a CEMC Galois Distinction from the University of Waterloo and a Bronze Honor in the International Youth Math Challenge (IYMC).
Ruqaiyah is a patient, supportive, and responsible mentor with experience in one-on-one tutoring, homework assistance, and mentoring younger students. She brings strong communication, active listening, leadership, and organizational skills, with a focus on creating a positive learning environment and helping students become more confident and independent learners. As an Assistant Senior Patrol Leader with the Boy Scouts of America, she has also led and mentored a group of 25 scouts, developing valuable teamwork and leadership experience.
Academically, Ruqaiyah is a South Brunswick High School student. She is involved in Varsity Field Hockey, SB Debate, XSTEM, Model UN, and Scouting of America. She is passionate about teaching, mentorship, and helping students develop both academic skills and confidence.
With a strong interest in mathematics and problem-solving, Noel enjoys helping students understand challenging concepts and become more confident in their abilities. His tutoring experience with Montgomery Learning Beyond Limits, along with his work supporting students with mild learning disabilities through an ESY Summer Program, has helped him develop strong communication, teamwork, patience, and mentoring skills. He brings a supportive and encouraging approach to working with students and enjoys helping them strengthen their academic skills.
Noel is currently a student at Rutgers Preparatory School, where he has completed Honors Geometry and Honors Algebra II with strong grades and is also studying AP Computer Science. His strong math and analytical skills, combined with his experience tutoring and supporting younger students, make him a great addition to the Mathnasium team.
Hashini brings a genuine passion for math, teaching, and helping students learn to her role at Mathnasium. Her experience teaching elementary school students, supporting students through Toastmasters, and participating in academic and medical math competitions has helped her develop strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills. She enjoys working with students and creating a supportive environment where they can feel more comfortable and confident with challenging concepts.
Hashini is a senior at South Brunswick High School and has consistently earned Honors and High Honors. Her coursework includes AP Calculus AB, AP Biology, AP Language, AP World History, and Honors Human Anatomy & Physiology. She has also participated in HOSA medical math competitions and is involved in research through a Rutgers research internship.
Siddharth enjoys mathematics and problem-solving and brings a strong analytical mindset and leadership experience to his work with students. Through his experience as a summer camp volunteer, where he dedicated over 200 hours to supporting campers and educational activities, he developed strong communication, teamwork, organization, and real-time problem-solving skills. As a member of Mathletes, he also helps create engaging meeting materials and activities for fellow students.
Siddharth is currently a student at South Brunswick High School, with coursework including AP Computer Science A, AP Physics 1, Honors Pre-Calculus, and Honors Algebra II. His strong foundation in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and pre-calculus, combined with his leadership and community involvement, makes him a valuable addition to the Mathnasium team.
Krishay has a natural ability to make math feel approachable and enjoys helping students understand concepts in ways that work best for them. He brings a patient, encouraging, and adaptable teaching style, along with strong communication skills and the ability to break down challenging concepts into easier-to-understand steps. His reliability, organization, and enthusiasm for mathematics allow him to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
Krishay is currently a student at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South, where he has earned straight-A grades and completed Honors-level math courses. His strong foundation includes Algebra I, Honors Algebra II, Honors Geometry, Pre-Algebra, and elementary and middle school mathematics. His passion for helping students build confidence and make math more approachable makes him a great addition to the Mathnasium team.
Karthikk combines a strong passion for mathematics with leadership, communication, and a genuine interest in helping others learn. His experience in competition math, robotics, and educational outreach has strengthened his ability to explain concepts clearly, think critically, and approach problems from different perspectives. As a co-president of an educational nonprofit and a leader on his robotics team, he has developed valuable skills in mentoring, teamwork, curriculum planning, and adapting explanations to different learners.
Karthikk is currently in high school, with a strong academic foundation in Algebra, Geometry, Precalculus, Linear Algebra, and AP-level mathematics. He participates in AMC, Math Olympiad, and MathCounts and brings a problem-solving mindset to his work with students. His combination of mathematical ability, teaching experience, and leadership makes him a strong addition to the Mathnasium team.
Aarika has extensive experience working with and supporting others through her hospital and community volunteering, as well as her involvement with SkillsUSA and STEM initiatives. She enjoys using her knowledge to help others learn and brings a patient, thoughtful, and supportive approach to working with students.
Aarika, currently a senior in high school brings a strong combination of mathematical knowledge, STEM experience, and leadership to her role at Mathnasium. Her academic background includes Calculus I, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, and she has earned a Schoolhouse Certified Math SAT credential. Through her STEM-focused entrepreneurship work, she has also applied mathematics and research to develop solutions to real-world healthcare challenges. Her experiences have strengthened her communication, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
