Arthur holds degrees from Texas A&M University and Stony Brook University, where he discovered his passion for teaching. With over a decade of experience educating students of all ages and backgrounds, Arthur believes that every child can reach their math goals with the right environment and support.
He is dedicated to providing a personalized learning experience that builds confidence and fosters a positive attitude toward math. Outside the center, Arthur is an avid rock climber and enjoys exploring local spots like Gold Bar, Index, and Squamish, where problem-solving meets adventure.
Joy holds a Bachelor’s in Biochemistry and a Master’s in Education from Seattle Pacific University. With over eight years of tutoring experience in Chemistry, Biology, and Genetics and three years as a paraeducator she brings a deep understanding of how students learn.
At Mathnasium, Joy enjoys helping students overcome personal challenges and discover the joy in problem-solving. She believes math can be fun, rewarding, and empowering. Outside of work, she volunteers as a forest steward with the Green Kirkland Partnership.
Tyler earned a double major in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Washington, Bothell, and recently completed his Master’s in Education. His interest in teaching began during his undergrad years while leading a video game design course.
At Mathnasium, Tyler brings a thoughtful, encouraging approach to math instruction. He enjoys helping students connect with math in meaningful ways. Outside of the classroom, you’ll find him exploring photography and origami.
Ilia brings a wealth of knowledge to Mathnasium, having taught K–12 math and college-level courses in both math and computer science at Portland Community College. He holds undergraduate degrees in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Electrical Engineering.
Ilia is passionate about sharing his love of math and technology and believes that building foundational understanding can unlock student potential. He is committed to helping each learner grow with confidence and curiosity.
