Shreya Trivedi

Owner

Shreya is the Owner of Mathnasium of Lafayette. Prior to opening the Mathnasium center, she worked in non-profit, fintech and consulting space. She has a MS in Business Analytics from University of Texas at Austin and BS in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT). Being a lifetime lover of math, Shreya is enthusiastic about helping every child in the community to truly understand math by teaching it in the way that makes sense to them. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

Jana Flamino

Assistant Center Director

Jana homeschooled her own five children for over 20 years before entering the education field professionally as a private tutor. In 2022 she was given an opportunity to contract with Mathnasium as an instructor and administrator before officially joining the team in 2023. Having struggled with math herself when young, she understands the difficulty some students may face when learning it. Her love of math grew when teaching her own children and through her personal experience knows that everyone not only has the ability to learn math, but the potential to master it.

Hello, my name is Alex Canales and I am a math major at Diablo Valley College. I am passionate about math, and hope to share the joy this subject brings to me with others. In my free time I enjoy playing the piano, and playing card games with my family.

Daniel

Instructor

I'm a junior at Acalanes High School and took AP Calculus BC in my sophomore year. I am the vice president of the Campus Math Club and got 760/760 on my PSAT in the math section. Also, I play soccer and swim for my school. I have always loved math and enjoy working with children. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies and playing games with my friends.

Charles

I have degrees in engineering and applied economics. I love Maths and enjoy sharing my interest with others. I have been a Sunday School teacher for preteens and enjoy teaching and learning with children. In my free time, I enjoy nature walks and easy listening music.

Curtis

Instructor

Curtis is a senior at Campolindo High School. He enjoys helping students learn math and is currently a peer tutor for PreCalculus Honors. He also participates in the high school musical program and the track team, where he hurdles and pole vaults.

Julia

Instructor

Julia is a senior at Acalanes High School. She loves math and likes to incorporate it into her daily life. She loves to teach, and when she's not working at Mathnasium, she is usually volunteering at her school’s peer tutoring center. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, reading, and making crafts, especially geometric ones.

Gianna

Hi, my name is Gianna, and I am a current senior at Acalanes. I will be attending Berkeley next fall to study economics. I have a passion for anything math, and I have completed math through AP Calculus BC. I love sharing knowledge, and I believe in the power of collaborating and hands-on learning to help others succeed and enjoy doing math. Outside of academics, I love to hang out with friends, cook, read, be active, and I am always looking for new experiences that combine my creativity with problem-solving!

Liam

I'm a sophomore at Diablo Valley College, currently studying computer science, and in particular the intricacies of Machine Learning. I enjoy teaching others, especially in mathematics and spend my free time majorly outdoors rock climbing, or playing various games with friends.

Malia

Instructor

I am a first year college student working towards an eventual Masters in Nursing focused on NICU. I love working with kids and enjoy teaching them math. In my free time I like to go hiking, volunteer at the animal shelter, babysit, and hang out with friends. I recently moved back to the area after a brief 6 months on the Oregon coast and know all the best beaches on the coast.

Michael

Michael, a junior at Campolindo High School, likes learning and applying math to physics and chemistry. Seeing all the ways in which math can solve real world problems is especially fascinating to him. This appreciation of math extends to an enjoyment for helping others with their math journey. He also enjoys getting out and playing ultimate frisbee with his team.

Wilson

Instructor

Wilson is a high school senior at Bentley Upper School. His whole life, he has found passion in math and is dedicated to helping young students find beauty in math and numbers. Whether it's volunteering at his school for pi day or partaking in math competitions, he finds there is always so much new to explore in math! As a mathematician, he has completed and taught math topics ranging from basic counting all the way up to advanced calculus. While he is not doing math, you might find him on the local trails of the Bay as he is an avid runner.

Eleni

Instructor

Eleni is a sophomore at Diablo Valley College. She enjoys continuously learning about advanced math topics. She has a passion for computer science and hosts club workshops at DVC that involve math and computer science applications. She has completed Multivariable Calculus and Differential Equations at DVC. In her free time, she loves to play the violin.
