Jana Flamino

Assistant Center Director
Jana, whose family has lived in New Jersey, Illinois, and Germany, homeschooled her own five children before settling in the East Bay and working professionally as a private tutor. Education and learning are her passions; she embraces the philosophy that “the mind is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be kindled.” She loves being present with the students, getting to know each of them and encouraging them to strive towards their greatest potential. Solving problems, whether in math or bouldering, is one of her favorite pastimes.

Brendan Connelly

Lead Instructor
Brendan is a senior at Acalanes High School. He has a passion for math and loves doing math in his free time. He aced both the PSAT and the SAT math sections. He is also a president and founder of the Acalanes Math Club. In his free time, Brendan enjoys playing chess and sailing.

Colin Sohn

Instructor
Colin is a senior at Acalanes High School who has an interest in data science. He has completed AP Calculus AB and is currently enrolled in AP Calculus BC and AP Statistics. He enjoys working with kids, especially when it comes to teaching math. In his free time, he loves to play soccer and hang out with friends.

Molly Connelly

Instructor
Molly is a sophomore at Acalanes High School and Vice President of the Acalanes Math Club. She is so passionate about math that she does it in her free time. Molly has competed in a variety of math competitions including the American Math Competition and the Berkeley Math Tournament where she received an honorable mention. In her free time she enjoys dance and sailing.

Brendan Miles

Instructor
Brendan is a junior at Acalanes High School. His favorite classes are Pre-Calculus and Computer Science. In his spare time, Brendan enjoys pitching for the Acalanes baseball team and competing in Rubik’s Cube competitions around the Bay Area.
