Jana Flamino

Assistant Center Director

After homeschooling my five children for over 20 years, I returned to work in 2020 as a private academic, executive function and ESL tutor while volunteering as an online tutor for the Los Angeles Unified School District. I began working at Mathnasium of Lafayette in 2022, first contracting as an instructor/administrator before joining the team officially as their Assistant Director in 2023.

Having struggled with math myself as a child, I offer understanding and encouragement in my approach. My personal love for math grew when homeschooling my own children, and I am now a firm believer that every student has the potential to master math with the right support and approach.

Alex Canales

Assistant Center Director

I've been with Mathnasium of Lafayette since 2024, but just recently moved up as one of the center's assistant directors. I am currently pursuing a degree in mathematics and I've seen first-hand how a solid mathematical foundation can make a difference in education.  When I am not working or studying, you will find me solving math problems or puzzles. I look forward to helping our students achieve their math goals!
