Hello, my name is Bella, and I am the Center Director of Mathnasium of Lafayette! I am super excited to have the opportunity to constantly meet new students! This will be the third Mathnasium center that I have been a part of and have managed. Math has always been my favorite subject to learn and teach, and I love seeing the kids get more confident at Mathnasium. I am also currently working on my master's in accounting as well as managing the center. Thank you all for your support and everything you do for your students!
Shreya is the Owner of Mathnasium of Lafayette. Prior to opening the Mathnasium center, she worked in non-profit, fintech and consulting space. She has a MS in Business Analytics from University of Texas at Austin and BS in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT). Being a lifetime lover of math, Shreya is enthusiastic about helping every child in the community to truly understand math by teaching it in the way that makes sense to them. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
Jana homeschooled her own five children for over 20 years before entering the education field professionally as a private tutor. In 2022 she was given an opportunity to contract with Mathnasium as an instructor and administrator before officially joining the team in 2023. Having struggled with math herself when young, she understands the difficulty some students may face when learning it. Her love of math grew when teaching her own children and through her personal experience knows that everyone not only has the ability to learn math, but the potential to master it.
Eleni is a sophomore at Diablo Valley College. She enjoys continuously learning about advanced math topics. She has a passion for computer science and hosts club workshops at DVC that involve math and computer science applications. She has completed Multivariable Calculus and Differential Equations at DVC. In her free time, she loves to play the violin.
Hello, my name is Alex Canales and I am a math major at Diablo Valley College. I am passionate about math, and hope to share the joy this subject brings to me with others. In my free time I enjoy playing the piano, and playing card games with my family.
Julia is a senior at Acalanes High School. She loves math and likes to incorporate it into her daily life. She loves to teach, and when she's not working at Mathnasium, she is usually volunteering at her school’s peer tutoring center. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, reading, and making crafts, especially geometric ones.
Curtis is a senior at Campolindo High School. He enjoys helping students learn math and is currently a peer tutor for PreCalculus Honors. He also participates in the high school musical program and the track team, where he hurdles and pole vaults.
Wilson is a high school senior at Bentley Upper School. His whole life, he has found passion in math and is dedicated to helping young students find beauty in math and numbers. Whether it's volunteering at his school for pi day or partaking in math competitions, he finds there is always so much new to explore in math! As a mathematician, he has completed and taught math topics ranging from basic counting all the way up to advanced calculus. While he is not doing math, you might find him on the local trails of the Bay as he is an avid runner.
Daniel is a junior in Acalanes High School. He took AP Calculus BC in his sophomore year. He is the vice president of the Campus Math Club and got 760/760 on his PSAT in the math section. Also, he plays soccer and does swimming for his school. He has always loved math and enjoys working with children. In his free time, he enjoys watching movies and playing games with his friends.
