Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Roy

Math Instructor

Roy is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering at the University of California, Irvine. In high school, he scored 5s on both the AP Calculus AB and BC exams and has continued his studies through Linear Algebra.

He believes math is for everyone, and that with curiosity and effort, any student can develop a deep understanding of it. Outside of Mathnasium, Roy enjoys programming, playing piano, developing video games, and spending time with friends.

Samantha

Math Instructor

Samantha is a recent graduate from Cal State University Fullerton with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Her passion for math, numbers, and statistics has led her to pursue a career in data science to help others understand how math can be utilized to make logical, data-backed decisions in real world scenarios. She developed skills and a love for tutoring in the Student Success Center of CSUF, and she enjoys helping students learn to problem-solve by prompting their own critical thinking skills and understanding of core concepts.

Samantha hopes to encourage the young math learners at Mathnasium to grow their own enjoyment of mathematics through proper understanding because she believes math is fascinating and fun when learning is well supported and celebrated. Beyond her role at Mathnasium, Samantha likes to read developing authors, watch TV shows, build crafts and Legos, and spend time with friends and family.

Nick

Math Instructor

Nicholas earned his Associate of Science degree from Mt. San Antonio College and is now pursuing a Bachelor’s in Marine Engineering at the University of California, Irvine. He believes math is humanity’s way of translating the universe’s mysteries, and he is driven to build that same appreciation in young students. His academic path reflects a deep fascination with the mechanics of the sea, and he brings that same focus to everything he does.

Outside of school, Nicholas expresses his creativity through percussion for symphonic orchestras, finds joy in cooking, and feeds his connection to the ocean through deep sea fishing.

Nina

Math Instructor

Nina is currently pursuing her high school diploma at Troy High School. She is enrolled in AP Calculus BC and AP Statistics, and plans to continue her mathematics studies through multivariable calculus in the upcoming school year. She developed a passion for teaching and tutoring by helping her younger siblings understand a wide range of mathematical concepts.

Nina hopes to help students at Mathnasium discover their own passion for math and develop their skills beyond what they believe is possible. Outside of Mathnasium, she enjoys programming, creating software projects, watching TV series, and spending time with friends and family.

Seohyung

Math Instructor

Seohyung is a junior at Sunny Hills High School currently enrolled in Calculus BC. With prior experience as a volunteer tutor, he enjoys helping students build a strong understanding of math concepts and develop confidence in their abilities. Passionate about pursuing a math-related career, Seohyung strives to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and progressing at their own pace.
