At Mathnasium of Lake Highlands, we focus on building deep math understanding and mastery over time, so students aren't cramming at the last minute before each test.
Every student begins with a diagnostic assessment that helps us identify their current skills and any knowledge gaps. From there, we create a personalized learning plan that builds math skills consistently, session by session, so students aren't starting from scratch before every exam.
Our specially trained tutors work with students across any PreK-12 math class, from elementary math through Precalculus and beyond, reinforcing the concepts they're learning in school, filling in foundational gaps, and developing the problem-solving skills that serve them on quizzes, midterms, and final exams alike.
When a major exam is approaching, we can align instruction with the specific topics and concepts it will cover, so students walk in feeling prepared.
Absolutely! Mathnasium of Lake Highlands helps students prepare for the math sections of the STAAR assessment by aligning instruction with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and each student's individual needs.
The process begins with a diagnostic assessment to pinpoint gaps in understanding. From there, we create a personalized learning plan that targets the skills students need to meet and exceed grade-level expectations.
As early as possible. The STAAR assessment measures cumulative math knowledge built over the course of the school year, which means students who build their skills consistently are far better positioned than those who begin preparing at the last minute.
Starting at the beginning of the school year gives our tutors the time needed to identify gaps, reinforce foundational concepts, and ensure students are on track well ahead of the exam. If your student is already closer to the test date, reach out and we'll put together a focused plan with the time they have.
Yes! Mathnasium of Lake Highlands prepares high school students for the math sections of the SAT®, PSAT®, and ACT®.
Our specially trained tutors use proprietary test prep materials and personalized learning plans to build the content knowledge and problem-solving strategies students need to perform their best on test day. Whether your student is sitting for the exam for the first time or working to improve their score, we tailor preparation to where they are and what they're aiming for.
We recommend starting at least three to six months before the exam date, and earlier is always better.
College admissions math tests cover a wide range of topics, from algebra and data analysis to geometry and, on the ACT®, trigonometry. Students who begin preparation early have time to identify and close knowledge gaps, build fluency with exam-style problems, and develop the confidence that comes from sustained practice.
For students with significant gaps in foundational math skills, starting even earlier, in middle school or early high school, gives them the strongest possible foundation heading into test prep. If your student's test date is approaching sooner, contact us and we'll build a focused plan around the time they have.
Math test prep at Mathnasium of Lake Highlands is offered as part of a flat monthly membership fee. Pricing depends on your student's individual learning plan and session schedule.
For specific pricing information, please contact our center directly. We're happy to walk you through the options and find a plan that fits your student's goals and your family's needs.
Every student comes in at a different place, so the session count varies based on current skill level, the target exam, and how much time remains before test day.
For major standardized tests like the SAT®, PSAT®, or ACT®, most students benefit from two sessions per week over a three-to-six-month period. For state assessments or school-based exams, a shorter timeline may be sufficient depending on each student's needs.
Once we complete the diagnostic assessment, we'll recommend a session schedule tailored to your student's goals and the time they have available.
Yes! Students can join live, face-to-face online sessions with our specially trained Lake Highlands tutors and follow the same personalized learning plan as they would in the center.
