Owner
Bruce holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Lewis & Clark College, where he also played varsity football, tutored math, and participated in student government. After studying actuarial science at Georgia State, he built a career in pension and healthcare consulting before returning to his passion for math education with Mathnasium.
In addition to running a Mathnasium center, Bruce is an active musician and youth basketball coach. He plays in multiple Portland bands including Ural Thomas & The Pain, and The Portland Horns. He believes math is more than just numbers—it’s a foundation for logic, problem-solving, and success in life.

Our program has a flat enrollment fee, and students attend regularly—much like a gym membership. Most students attend Mathnasium of Lake Oswego twice a week to maintain academic balance and motivation.
