Hi, I’m Shiv Patel, Center Director and Co-Owner of Mathnasium of Langhorne!
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering and a Master’s degree from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. I’m also a New Jersey state-certified educator and a licensed Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction, with years of experience working with students.
But my passion for math education comes from a much more personal place.
Believe it or not, I struggled with math when I was in 4th grade. It was my dad—an educator—who helped me see math differently. He taught me strategies that made concepts click, and more importantly, helped me build confidence in myself. That turning point not only transformed my academic path but ultimately led me to earn a perfect 4.0 GPA in my Master’s program. It also inspired me to become an educator and started my love for Math.
That experience is at the heart of everything I do and want to pass it to the next generation.
I truly believe that every child can succeed in math when it’s taught in a way that makes sense to them. Over the years, I’ve learned that no two students learn the same way—and each child has incredible, untapped potential waiting to be discovered. My goal is to help students unlock that potential, build lasting confidence, and develop a genuine love for learning math. I want to create an environment where kids don’t just improve their grades, but completely change how they feel about math.
As a mom to a wonderful son, this mission is especially meaningful to me. I understand the hopes, concerns, and challenges families face, and that perspective drives my commitment to creating a warm, supportive, and encouraging space for every child. For me, this isn’t just a center—it’s a dream brought to life.
Me and my husband Saurabh are incredibly excited to bring Mathnasium to the Langhorne community and to partner with local schools, teachers, and families. Our goal is to make a lasting impact—not just in math, but in the confidence and success of every student we serve.
Be sure to follow our Facebook page for updates, opening timelines, behind-the-scenes moments, and more as we bring Mathnasium to life. I look forward to meeting you and becoming part of this amazing community!
I’m Saurabh Patel, owner of Mathnasium of Langhorne and a professional Operations Manager. I am a father, husband, and the first in my family to earn an engineering degree. My academic background includes a bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and a master’s in Engineering Management from Penn State University.
I began my career as a production engineer, learning the fundamentals of efficiency, systems, and problem-solving, and over time, worked my way into an operations management role where I lead teams and focus on continuous improvement. Being a first-generation college graduate with an engineering degree is something I carry with a lot of pride—it represents not just my journey, but the sacrifices and support of my family along the way.
Becoming a father has truly changed my perspective. It made me think more deeply about the kind of impact I want to have, not just for my own child, but for other families in the community as well.
During COVID, I started helping kids in my community with math. It wasn’t anything formal at first—just a way to support families during a difficult time. But that experience stayed with me. I saw how much confidence kids could gain when they started to understand math, and it sparked something in me. It made me want to do more and find a way to give back in a meaningful, lasting way.
Math has always been a big part of my life, but I've never thought that memorizing steps or formulas was enough. To me, math is about getting good at mental math, learning how numbers work, and being able to think through problems with confidence. That's what I love to teach.
I’m truly excited to be part of the Langhorne community and look forward to serving families by helping students grow, build confidence, and realize their full potential.
Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.
