Tampa Bay's only kids chess club that is 100% FREE! 

Join us twice per month at Mathnasium of Largo for our kids chess club! Get ready to have some fun on the sixty-four squares. With guided play for beginners and open play for advanced students, kids of all levels are welcome. Participation is 100% FREE for all K-12 students in the community, so bring your friends and family! 

Space is limited, so please RSVP. (Note: If event appears full, we encourage you to periodically re-check the registration page, as spaces may become available when others cancel.)

What is the Mathnasium Kids Chess Club?

The club is our way of giving back to the community by providing a safe space for local students to learn chess, play each other, and develop a love for the game.

When and where is chess club held?

We hold chess club two Saturdays per month from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm. Specific dates are posted on our website and event page. Chess club is held at Mathnasium of Largo, 10500 Ulmerton Rd #376, Largo FL 33771.

My child is a beginner. Can they still come?

Absolutely! Even if your child is completely new to chess, they are sure to have fun learning.

Do I need to bring a chess set?

Thanks to the community's support with tournament participation and donations, the Mathnasium K12 chess club was recently able to purchase ten tournament-grade chess sets in addition to our standard chess sets. We now have 17 sets, plenty for the players. Your student may bring their own set if they wish.
