Sarah is a certified educator with a B.S. in Elementary Education and an M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction. A Largo native, she taught 5th - 7th grade math in Pinellas County Schools, while also leading after-school STEM programs, supporting ESOL and ESE students, and writing STEM curriculum. She has a strong skillset in high-level math, including statistics, trigonometry, and calculus.
For over two years, Sarah has brought her educational expertise to Mathnasium, with a genuine commitment to students that goes beyond academics. She believes every student can thrive with the right support.
Outside her role at Mathnasium, she is a full-time student working towards a second bachelor's degree in earth science. In her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking, and playing chess. She serves as the Vice President of the Women's Chess Club of St. Pete.
Beth serves as the Education Coordinator at Mathnasium of Largo. She is a state-certified educator currently teaching middle school math at a local private school, and she previously taught math and special education in New Jersey.
With a Master of Arts in Teaching and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Beth brings a strong foundation in math education. She enjoys helping students build confidence and is passionate about watching their skills and grades improve over time.
At Mathnasium of Largo, our instructors bring a wide range of backgrounds, and a shared passion for helping students succeed. Our team includes state-certified teachers, pre-med and STEM college students, and other highly trained math mentors who know how to meet learners where they are. Beyond strong credentials, what truly sets our instructors apart is the personal connection they build with each student, taking time to understand their goals, challenges, and learning style.
Abdul is our most senior instructor. He is skilled in helping students with advanced high school and college-level math, as well as working with younger students to build their foundational skills. Known for his kindness, patience, and clarity, Abdul makes challenging concepts easier to understand. He recently graduated from the pre-med program of University of South Florida, where his favorite subject was physics. In his free time, he enjoys playing games and exploring new ideas about how the world works.
Alan is a graduate of Florida State University with a double major in mathematics and secondary STEM education. He is currently working to obtain his master's degree in mathematics from University of West Florida. Alan is a state-certified educator and teaches math at a local high school. His patience with students coupled with his ability to break down complex topics allows for him to be an effective instructor. Alan is bilingual in English and Spanish. In his free time, Alan likes to play video games and go fishing.
Alex is a student at St. Petersburg Collegiate, currently taking college-level math classes. He has previously worked with kids as a middle school volleyball coach, and his experience in pushing students to do their absolute best comes in handy when teaching math. Alex has an instructional style that is relaxed yet positive, giving him a great rapport with students. He thoroughly explains concepts so students not only complete work but also master the skill. Alex is bilingual in English and Vietnamese. Outside of work, Alex enjoys playing sports and trying new foods from around the world.
Jovan is an IB student taking advanced math courses. His passion for math goes beyond schoolwork, having created solutions and programming animations for algebra, calculus, and real analysis. Jovan earned a near-perfect score of 790 on the math SAT. His background in working with students includes experience as an assistant Sunday school teacher. His instructional style is engaging and humorous, allowing students to have a positive learning experience. Jovan hopes to help kids overcome frustration in math and see its usefulness in the real world.
Jackie is a student in the IB program and is taking high-level math classes. She has previous experience working with students in an educational setting, having volunteered at a local elementary school. Jackie's instructional style involves breaking down concepts so that students can better understand. Outside of work, Jackie likes to play the cello and solve Rubik's cubes.
