Andy Phillips

Senior Instructor
Andy is currently in NCSU to pursue a degree in Business Administration with a Finance Concentration. He has completed a Course in Business Calculus, Statistics, and College Level PreCalc. He enjoys explaining mathematical concepts as well as real world application to his students. His goal is to provide effective instruction and help students achieve their academic goals. Andy enjoys video games, reading, and watching TV in his spare time. He's a huge Star Wars nerd and his Harry Potter house is Ravenclaw.

Daniel Yu

Senior Instructor
Daniel is currently in NC State in Computer Science. Daniel has taken Math 1, 2, and 3, as well as Precalculus, Calculus AB, and Calculus BC. Daniel loves finding ways to break down complicated problems into simpler, component parts, helping students solve them in bite-sized chunks. He loves watching the kids put a whole problem together, all on their own.

John Shockley

Senior Instructor
John is currently a student at NC State University to achieve his Bachelors in Computer Science. John has always had an affinity toward math growing up. He is interested in learning anything relating to STEM topics and is amazed by abstract concepts. John has challenged his capabilities by learning Calculus I, II, III, and soon linear algebra. He wants to give children the opportunity to understand math so they can hopefully love it as much as he does.

Jeremey Welty

Assistant Center Director
Jeremy is currently a student at Wake Tech, pursuing an Associate's in Science, and plans on earning a Bachelor's in Mathematics or a scientific field. He has taken Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus AB, and AP Calculus BC, and will soon take Calculus III. He loves seeing the unique ways that students conceptualize math topics, and loves when students achieve that "Ohhhhh!" moment, and everything clicks in their head. In his free time, he enjoys playing sports and board games with his friends and family.

Elijah Gray

Instructor
Elijah is currently attending Wake Tech Community College pursuing an Associate in Science Degree. He will then transfer to a university to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Physics. He loves Math, Physics, and Chemistry. Elijah is also an Eagle Scout. Elijah has taken Precalculus, AP Calculus AB and BC, as well as AP Statistics. Elijah hopes to use the knowledge he has gained in these classes to make it easier for students going through them. Elijah loves to play Pickleball and ride rollercoasters.

Malkaan Mehdi

Instructor
Malkaan is currently a student at Wake Tech where she plans to earn an Associate's Degree in Science before transferring to North Carolina State University to pursue a career in Computer Science and Astrophysics. She has completed Calculus I-III, AP Statistics, and Physics and Linear Algebra courses at NCSU. Her purpose for working at Mathnasium is to invoke excitement for math in every student. Malkaan's favorite part about teaching math is hearing the students say "I know how to do this!" In her free time, she indulges in books and watches rom-coms.

Anne Saffer

Instructor
Anne holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan. She fell in love with math in the fourth grade and has not looked back. Anne is excited to inspire a love for math in students at Mathnasium by sharing the joy and beauty of mathematical concepts. In her free time, she enjoys running, baking and spending time with her husband. She is also fascinated by cosmology and quantum mechanics.

Isabella Rosiak

Instructor
Isabella is currently a senior and takes classes at Wake Tech to earn an Associate’s in Engineering. She plans to attend university for a degree in biomedical engineering or a similar field. Isabella has completed Math 1-3, Pre Calculus, and Calculus 1. She enjoys making students feel confident in their math skills and helping them visualize new concepts. Isabella loves to play tennis, listen to music, and spend time with friends.
