Amy is pursuing majors in Elementary Education and Special Education, along with a minor in Positive Psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Before joining Mathnasium, she taught summer school and worked as a special education paraprofessional in Bellevue, NE. These experiences helped her discover a passion for supporting and inspiring young learners to reach their full potential. When she's not at the center, Amy enjoys staying active, indulging in sweet treats, going to country music concerts, and spending quality time with family and friends. She's dedicated to making a positive impact both in and out of the classroom.
Meet Jonas Cummings, your friendly math tutor from Aurora, Colorado! Jonas is currently pursuing a double major in actuarial science and music performance. He has a passion for calculus and loves making math accessible and enjoyable for everyone. When he's not helping students conquer their math challenges, you can find him playing the viola, hanging out with friends, or rocking out to classical rock tunes. He dreams of performing with the Colorado Symphony. Jonas is excited to share his knowledge and inspire others on their learning journeys!
Bailey is a student at UNL, majoring in biological sciences with minors in biochemistry and women and gender studies. Originally from Omaha, she loves sharing her passion for math at Mathnasium, building on her experience as an algebra teaching assistant and vice president of her school's math club. Bailey dreams of attending medical school to become an anesthesiologist. When she's not at the center, you'll find her at concerts, swimming, or cheering on the Huskers!
Teagan is currently majoring in Biological Systems Engineering with an emphasis in Biomedical Engineering and a minor in Mathematics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Outside of her academic pursuits, Teagan is actively involved in club volleyball and enjoys challenging herself by running half marathons. She also serves as the Head of Academics for her sorority, where she helps guide her peers toward academic success. Tegan has a passion for working with kids and loves teaching math. She finds joy in helping students understand complex concepts and inspiring a love for learning.
Gio is an energetic and dedicated tutor at Mathnasium with a passion for helping students succeed in math. As a Computer Science and Math major at Union University, Gio has a particular love for algebra and writing proofs. He believes that with the right guidance, anyone can learn to appreciate-and even enjoy-the beauty of math.
Gio brings valuable experience working with kids, having served as both a substitute teacher and Assistant Dean in Hawaii. His background has equipped him with the skills to connect with students, foster their confidence, and make learning an engaging experience.
When he's not teaching or solving math problems, Gio enjoys reading historical nonfiction, studying chess, and playing soccer. He strives to inspire every student he works with to realize their potential and discover that math can be both accessible and fun.
Rebecca ha a degree in Physics (Astronomy focus) and Mathematics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. After spending time working in astronomical research on NASA's Cassini mission, she is going back to school for data science. Rebecca loves introducing others to mathematics, which she considers her second language. When not working or studying, Rebecca enjoys crocheting while listening to audiobooks, playing in her weekly Dungeons and Dragons game, and showing her nephews the skies through her telescope.
Darla has been an educator for 29 years, teaching everything from elementary to college-level math. She has earned National Board Certification in Adolescent Mathematics. and was honored with the Don W. Miller Math Award. Darla is excited to be part of Mathnasium, where she can share her love of math with students and help them approach concepts in different ways, making sure they not only succeed, but also find joy in learning. When she's not teaching, Darla loves spending time with her family, being outdoors, and going for a run.
Olivia is a double major in Computer Science and Discrete Mathematics and Cryptography at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. As the Academic Advisor for her Navy ROTC program. Olivia helps guide her peers academically while balancing a rigorous course load and leadership responsibilities. She has a passion for helping students develop confidence in math by making learning enjoyable and rewarding. With her strong academic background and leadership experience, Olivia excels at breaking down complex math concepts into clear, manageable steps. Outside of academics, she enjoys playing intramural sports, spending time outdoors, and exploring music.
Andrea is a former middle school and college math teacher with a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Passionate about algebra, she thrives on helping students overcome challenges and move from struggling to succeeding. Watching students gain confidence and mastery in math is one of her greatest joys!
Outside the classroom, Andrea loves celebrating Czech cultural activities and festivals and cherishes quality time with her two college-aged children.
