Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Ramon Talley

Assistant Center Director

Ramon is a Sonoma State University graduate and Livermore native who discovered his passion for teaching while earning his teaching credential. He found joy in helping struggling students gain mastery over challenging subjects and now continues that work at Mathnasium.

What Ramon values most about Mathnasium is its ability to adapt to each student’s individual needs while maintaining a positive and fun learning environment. He’s proud to be part of a team that encourages growth, curiosity, and confidence in every student.

Shibani Otis

Assistant Center Director

Shibani holds a B.S. in Mathematics from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and has been tutoring since 2009. She chose mathematics over engineering because she enjoys problem-solving and tackling complex challenges. During college, she discovered nothing brought her more fulfillment than helping students succeed.

Having overcome her own math anxiety, Shibani brings empathy and encouragement to her role at Mathnasium. She’s passionate about showing students that they, too, can grow their confidence and master math. Working with students to change their perspective on math and life is the most rewarding part of her job.

Ben Perry

Senior Instructor

Ben graduated from the University of Utah with a BS in Statistics and is currently preparing for his first two Actuarial Exams. His tutoring journey began in 2011 at Granada High School and continued through college, where he worked at his university’s math lab and tutored privately.

Ben loves using his math skills to help others succeed. At Mathnasium, he enjoys seeing the moment a student’s understanding clicks. For him, math tutoring isn’t just about numbers—it’s about watching students grow in confidence and ability every day.

Cedric Niguidula

Senior Instructor

Cedric earned a Bachelor of Science in Management Engineering from Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines, with a strong focus on quantitative math and science. Before joining Mathnasium, he tutored elementary and middle school students in Stamford, Connecticut, while also consulting in IT project management.

Math has always been Cedric’s favorite subject, and he is passionate about helping students see its value and beauty. He finds it incredibly rewarding to help students build confidence, develop new skills, and ultimately enjoy learning math. Cedric is proud to support young learners in reaching their full potential.

Jonathan Cheng

Senior Instructor
I have a Master's from UC Irvine and Bachelor's from UC Riverside both for Electrical Engineering. Throughout college, I've helped numerous peers with courses regarding mathematics, science, and engineering. During high school, I also taught middle school common core math. As I prepare for my future endeavors into the engineering industry, I wanted to take this time to continue to hone my teaching skills.

Lauren Hammond

Senior Instructor
I have a B.S. in both Communications and Elementary Education, and a Masters in Education with an emphasis on middle school mathematics. After teaching preschool, kindergarten and third grade, I chose to focus on Math because I wanted to help students overcome fears and general dislike of the subject. I specialized in the middle school grades because I wanted to be a mentor to students during that awkward life stage. I also believe middle school math covers the foundational math skills necessary to having a successful adult life. Working at Mathnasium allows me to do what I love- teach students to understand math.

Lucas Bateson

Senior Instructor
I graduated UC: Santa Cruz in 2014 with my bachelors in economics. I worked at Squaw Valley Academy as a Math and Test Prep teacher for several years before I switched my focus to private instruction. I have been tutoring professionally since I was hired by my college in 2011.

Melodie Lo

Senior Instructor
I graduated from UC Davis with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry in 2023. Growing up I really enjoyed math, its relation to the sciences, and its overall diversity. As an instructor, I feel it's important to share these insights with students to help them grow and develop their personal strengths. I always look forward to guiding students to success at Mathnasium.

RJ Callub

Senior Instructor
I graduated from Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo with a B.S. in Mathematics. Growing up, I loved math because each problem felt like a puzzle waiting to be solved. I know that math can be a daunting subject at times, but I believe that each student has the ability to overcome it. At Mathnasium, my goal is to give students the confidence they need in order to succeed in the subject – and make sure they have fun learning it at the same time.

Timothy Brown

Senior Instructor
I have a PhD in Material Science from Texas A&M. I work full time at the lab where I study brain inspired electronic devices. I also work part time at Mathnasium because I love it, and I love math. I truly enjoy my work at the lab, but I also wanted to enrich my life with teaching. I love working with the students at Mathnasium. If I can explain how Euler worked on math for decades after going blind, or share an unusual proof of the Pythagorean theorem, it makes my whole week.

William Crowhurst

Senior Instructor
I am a Physics student at Las Positas College. At the end of next year I plan to transfer to a four year program and obtain a Batchelor's. I have always enjoyed figuring out and solving math problems. Over the last few years I have engaged in a variety of math competitions including Mathcounts and AMC. Math is my favorite subject and I find enjoyment in studying and teaching it.

Zarah Taufique

Senior Instructor
I am a Computer Engineering student at San Jose State. I grew up in Austin, Texas and discovered my love for math during middle school. At the start of 2020, I began tutoring elementary students in Math, English, and Science. Through my Zoom and in-person lessons, I realized teaching math has not only been a strong suit of mine, but something I genuinely enjoy. Each student is unique and noticing how their individual strengths come out in their work is my favorite part of teaching.

Anderson Schwarer

Junior Instructor
I am a concurrent student at Livermore High School. Ever since I was student at Mathnasium, I have come to realize the joy and satisfaction of not only understanding, but actually enjoying math. This understanding helped me accelerate further into greater levels. Growing up, I have found particular fulfillment in teaching peers around me and I am grateful to be granted the opportunity to fulfill that dream to other students.

Devin Seetho

Junior Instructor
I am a current student at Granada High School, and I plan to pursue STEM in University. Ever since I was a little kid, I found a particular interest in math and science, but math stood out as a particular subject that I found came naturally. I started out as a student at Mathnasium, because it helped me get an edge in my advanced math classes. Now that I am an instructor, my goal at Mathnasium is to spread my enjoyment of math and share what I have learned.

Eleanor Cowan

Junior Instructor
I am currently a student at LHS with plans to eventually obtain a masters in Kinesiology. Math has always been one of my favorite subjects because I enjoy the satisfaction of solving tough problems. A lot of students dislike math because they don’t understand it. My goal is to help students understand math, so that they too can experience the joy and fun that math brings.

Sanjay Ravishankar

Junior Instructor
I grew up as a child in India, and I am currently a student at Amador Valley High School. Since I started middle school, I was always passionate about mathematics, physics, and astronomy. I love to work at Mathnasium because it combines my two passions: mathematics and spreading knowledge.

Vansh Chhabra

Junior Instructor
As a high school student at Amador Valley High School, my passion for STEM has grown tremendously, with mathematics being a particular interest of mine. I have actively participated in various math, physics, and coding competitions. Additionally, I have found great fulfillment in sharing my love for math with others as I believe knowledge is most valuable when shared. I love working with other students at Mathnasium where I can help them experience the wonders of math and witness their "aha" moments.

Yair Cohen

Junior Instructor
I am a high school junior at Granada High School. I’ve always enjoyed learning math. Not just as a set of operations or rules, but rather as a tool to analyze the world and make practical use of the widely diverse skillset. I feel privileged to be able to extend my passion to our students by guiding their journey of learning mathematics in school and beyond.

Ziad Mohammed

Junior Instructor
I am currently a student at GHS with passions in STEM, particularly physics and engineering. Growing up, I have always enjoyed the puzzle-like, problem solving aspects of math.
