We've all been there..... it's evening time and you find that your student is resisting doing their homework. So now, in addition to being a parent, provider, chef, taxi driver, etc, you get to be the homework enforcer. (P.S., it's a thankless job)
Harvard Graduate School of Education says, "Many parents are under the impression that they shouldn't have anything to do with their student's homework. This comes from schools emphasizing that homework is a child's responsibility, not the parent's. While it is absolutely true that a parent should not do their child's homework, there is a role for the parent."
We call that role 'homework manager'. What do the most effective managers do? They know how to delegate.
This is where Mathnasium of Glendale comes in. Our instructors are specialized, one-on-one homework helpers that keep your child on track. The truth is homework matters. It increases understanding and confidence in academics, but it also has huge benefits outside of the subject matter. The Center for Public Education says, "Some primary-level teachers may assign homework for such benefits, which include learning the importance of responsibility, managing time, developing study habits, and staying with a task until it is completed."
Here are what some Mathnasium parents have noticed:
"..., homework help is making it possible for her to get through class weekly but in addition, there’s a system for going back through the building blocks of algebra to make sure she understands the foundations she’s missing." - Nina M
"My son James,7th grade has been going for 3 months, his math teacher at school, emailed me about how much he has improved. Mathnasium so far is the best for my son to learn and practice his math" - Christina C.
