Hope
Assistant Center Director
"Becoming a leader instructor has been very fulfilling in allowing me to become more hands on with developing learning plans and strategies with students. Becoming more involved in the process of helping to make sure that students are moving through their learning plans well and are receiving the best materials to prepare them for success in mathematics and in all its applications has been incredibly rewarding as I get to see on a daily basis the difference it makes to these students." Hope Stephens graduated with a bachelor’s degree in physics from William and Mary, where she was also a member of the cross country and track and field teams. She enjoys helping others understand math, and realizes how important a solid foundation in mathematics is for critical thinking and other fundamental skills. In her free time, she enjoys running, biking and swimming, as well as continuing to learn about different fields in physics and mathematics.
Sangita "Seema"
Senior Lead Instructor
"As a lead instructor, I not only help students develop the skills they need to succeed in math, but I also look for innovative ways to share my passion for the subject with them and inspire a lifetime love of learning. Additionally, I have made use of my abilities to oversee the learning center. This includes mentoring other educators, administering tests, identifying areas of student learning deficiency, and making sure students receive clear and concise math instruction. This role has proven to be an extremely rewarding opportunity that has allowed me to make a difference in the lives of Mathnasium students." Seema is a certified tutor with a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. She recently sold the business she owned and operated for more than twelve years. Seema specializes in math, with a passion for helping kids of all ages reach their full potential. She enjoys interacting with students and supports their tutoring experience using modern technology and visual aids to make the learning experience enjoyable.
Alan
Lead Instructor
"Becoming an instructor at Mathnasium has been a great benefit for me. It has allowed me to strengthen my ability to communicate, problem solve, and understand the thinking of others. I like the way Mathnasium is set up, in which instructors have a small number of students to independently work with, because it provides students with the proper amount of attention without being overbearing for the children. Students pick up new ideas in different ways and it is a fun challenge to find the appropriate way to teach each individual student. I've always been a fan of math and I know that it can be a struggle for students to understand, and even more of a struggle to enjoy, so I do what I can to help people find the same love for math that I have." Alan Grissom graduated from Bob Jones High School in 2018. He is currently taking classes at UAH as well as online courses at Auburn University where he is double majoring in Mathematics and Geography. When not working or at school, Alan enjoys spending time with his friends or his two dogs.

Savannah
Lead Instructor
"Being able to work as an instructor has been a highly rewarding experience for me. I'm very happy to help others learn in a way that's enjoyable for them, and at the same time I've learned a lot myself. One of my favorite things about Mathnasium is being able to communicate directly with students and see their understanding develop as time goes on. Also, I like that we encourage each student to try multiple methods for any given subject. This feels especially important to me as someone who, as a kid, would have to come up with their own strategies when the traditional ones just didn't work. I also saw growing up, and still do see in many of my peers, a fearful or disdainful attitude towards math. My main goal working at Mathnasium is to do what I can to change that. I want to give our students the tools to feel prepared when it comes to math, even if they're not yet a pro at it, and maybe one day they can even come to enjoy it as much as I do."
Savannah graduated in 2022 from Collierville High School in Collierville, Tennessee, where she started getting informal tutoring experience as a member of the school's math society. Currently, she's attending UAH and majoring in Systems Engineering, with a minor in Mathematics. In her spare time, Savannah likes drawing, crocheting, and learning to identify wildlife. What she enjoys most about math is both how beautiful it can be and how it can be a lot like solving a puzzle, which is something she hopes to pass on to others.

Mathnasium provides premium value by combining a superior learning experience with an efficient structure that keeps costs low. There is a flat enrollment fee for our program, and students attend regularly—much like a gym membership. We recommend that they attend Mathnasium 2-3 times per week as attending less frequently will slow results and attending too often could lead to student burnout. Pricing varies by program and geographic area. Contact our center for more details on enrollment packages.
We use the Mathnasium Method™, a proprietary teaching approach which combines personalized learning plans with proven techniques to build math knowledge upon what students already know, so they're able to retain what they learn and gain confidence along the way.
No. All learning occurs under the efficient and effective guidance of our trained instructors. Adding homework would risk frustration and overload. In fact, we'll set aside some time each session to help your student with their school homework.
